In total $31.4 billion was given to Britain, $11.3 billion went to the Soviet Union, $3.2 billion to France, and $1.6 billion went to China, and the rest of the money, $2.6 billion to the other Allies.

    Operation Barbossa was the code name for Germany's invasion of the Soviet Union. It is the largest invasion in the histroy of warfare. This was kind of a bad turning point in the war for Germany.

    This battle was between Germany and the Soviet Union. It was for the city of Stalingrad. It is or has been often regarded as the single largest and bloodiest battle in the history of warfare, but some don't agree. At this point in the war Germany was using a lot of areial bombing and attacks. After being surrounded, the German forced eventually surrenderd.

    Battle of the Bulge was the last offenseive push the Germans did. One of their tactics were to split the Americans and British apart but failed. They minimized their radio talking so thir cover woudn't be blown.

    The point of this battle was for the U.S to capture this island to stage attacks on the Japenese mainland. The troops on the ground had support from the air and sea. It didn't take very long to capture the island.

    It was the largest amphibous assault in WWII. Okinawa was only 340 miles from the mainland of Japan. The battle has been referred to as the "typhoon of steel".

    This was the date of the "Victory in Europe". When Germany was surrendering to the Allied Powers. Millions of people were celebrating, Italy and Germany had already surrendered.
  • Bombings of Hiroshima/ Nagasaki

    This was almost the end of WWII, the U.S dropped the two bombs on Japan. Japan thought we only had one bomb and did not want to surrender to the U.S. The plane was not sought as a threat when it flew into Japan.
