    Germany was already under the control of Adolf Hitler, who had already invaded Austria and Hungaria pronouncung them original German proprety. When they wanted to invade Poland France and GB said heck no and declared war on them when they did. Then Russia attacked Poland the day after Germany and REKD them.
    Fun Fact: Hitler initally claimed he invaded Poland so German people could have living space.

    Often Referred to as the Siege of Stalingrad this battle lasted over 6 monthes. THe German and Russian forces were at a stalemate until the winter. THe Germans were unprepared for the cold siberian winter because nothing is colder than the Siberian winter ("except my soul"-Shiri).

    When the Allies landed on France's beaches in Normandy. The Americans Landed on omaha. This was the most fortified beach and the Allies faced heavy resistance. After a couple hours the allies eventually captured the beach but at a heavy cost.

    It was when we dropped Fat Man, a nuke, on a minor Japan city to make Japan surrender. Of course being stubborn Japan didn't surrender prompting the U.S. to drop a second nuke on Nagasaki. Fat Man external schematic

    Truman had a difficult decision he had. He could either Nuke Tokyo and kill hundreds of thousands of people or he could nuke Nagasaki a smaller city. But at the time the U.S. only had two Nukes and they had already used one of them. If this nuke didn't make Japan surrender then they would have to invade Japan which would kill millions on both sides.
