The German Invasion of Poland was fought in Poland and was between the German and the Polish. The Germans won the battle and took over Poland. Hitler said he did this in defense, but the British and French did not believe him. This ended up beginning WWII.

Operation Barbarossa was fought in the Soviet Union between the Soviets and the Germans. The battle was won by the Soviets and was a huge mistake made by the Germans. Hitler thought he could take over the USSR but vastly underestimated the size of their army.

Pearl Harbor
The batt;e of Pearl Harbor was fought in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. It wasn’t much of a battle as the Japanese dropped bombs on the harbor and flew away with no returned fire from the USA. This battle was between just the Japanese and the USA. The Japanese definitely won the battle. This battle was what really pushed the U.S. into WWII.

Battle of Stalingrad
The battle of Stalingrad was between the Russians and the Germans. The battle took place in present day Ukraine and Belarus. The Russians were able to use the Russian Winter as an advantage as the German soldiers were not use to such low temperatures. In the end, Russia won the battle, retaken Stalingrad, and captured almost 100,000 German soldiers.

Operation Torch
Operation Torch was fought between the USA and the UK against France, Italy, and Nazi Germany in Morocco and Algeria. This was the first battle in which the USA and UK worked together on an invasion. The successful invasion from the Allies alleviated pressure off of troops in Europe.

The battle of Anzio was fought between the USA and the UK against Italy near Anzio, Italy. The Allies won the battle and took over Italy. This allowed them to take France later. -

This battle was between the Soviet Union and Poland against Germany in modern day Ukraine and Poland. The Soviets and Polish won the battle easily.They liberated large portions of Polish and Soviet territory. Germany was never able to overcome this loss.

Battle of Berlin
The battle was between the Germans and the Soviets in Berlin, Germany. The Soviet Union attacked the city of Berlin until the Germans surrendered. This was one of the last battles of the war. The Soviets did end up winning the battle. Hitler also ended up committing suicide soon after the battle.
