Battle of Belgium
The Battle was fought in Belgium and Luxemburg. The battle was fought between Belgium, France, Luxemburg, United Kingdon, Netherlands and Germany. German Victory, Belgium Surrender. Germans invaded Belgium and the Netherlands at the same time. The Belgian Campaign incuded the first opperation using paratroopers. It also incuded the first tank battle of the war. -
Operation Barbosa
Operation Barbosa took place in the Soviet Union. It was faught between Germany, Romania, Finland, Italy, Hungary, Slovakia, Croatia and tHe Soviet Union. Allied Victory, opening of Eastern Front. Operation Barbosa was the German plan to invade the USSR. After the Battle of Stallingrad German military started to back down. Opened up the grounds for some of the most bloody battles in the war. -
Battle of Moscow
The Battle was faught in Moscow Russia. The battle was faught between Germany and the Soviet Union. Soviet Victory, ended Operation Barbosa. It ended Operation Barbosa and began the Soviet offense. Soviet forces began to prepare for German invasion by building a group of defensive lines to protect the city. During the attacks the Russian winter took over the German forces causing them to loose their force. -
Attack on Pearl Harbor
The battle was fought in Peral Harbor, Hawaii. The battle was fought between the United States and Japan. Resulted in a Japanese Victory. Japan hoped to damage US Navy to keep them out of the war and to take over the Pacific. Instead the attack began the US entrance into the war. Japan had sent a declaration of war to the US and on that day American forces entered the war. -
Battle of Wake Isand
The Battle was faught on Wake Island on U.S. Territory. THe war was faught between Japan and the United States. Japanese Victory The war took place after the Japanese attack of Pearl Harbor. Both countries Marine forces palyed a big role durring the battle. Ultimatly the American forces surrendered to the Empire of Japan. -
Battle of the Coral Sea
The Battle was fought in the Coral Sea near Australia. The battle was fought between the United States, Australia and Japan. No final victor was declared but the Japanese sunk the US fleet carrier and a destroyer. By invading and occupying the port Moresby the Japanese planned to strengthen their military. The US forces were able to figure out the Japanese plans through signals. By doing this they were able to defend and prepare Japanese attacks quicker. -
Batte of Midway
The battle was fought in the Midway Atoll. The battle included the United States and Japan. American victory. Six months after Pearl Harbor the US Navy destroyed one of the Japanese attack fleets of Japan. Historians call it "one of the most consequential naval engagements in world history". The Japanese had hoped they could take control of all the Pacific. -
Battle of Anzio
The Battle was fought in Anzio and Nettuno. The battle was fought between United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Germany and Italian Social. Allied Victory. -
Attack on Truk Island
The battle was fought in Truk, Caroline Islands. it was fought between the United States and Japan. American Victory. Truk island gave Japan a harbor that was able to hold the Japanese navy war ships. American forces used 9 carriers to take out this port. -
Normandy (D-Day)
The battle was fought in Normandy, France. United Kingdom, United States, Canada, and Nazi Germany. Allied Victory. The invasion began at night with parachute and huge air attacks. Largest sea born invasion in history. Germany had an idea about the US plan to attack but didn't have all the information. -
Battle of Bulge
The battle wqas fought in Luxembourg, Germany. It was fought between United States, United Kingdom, France, Canada, Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany. Allied Victory. Germans planned a surprise attack. Americans experienced the attack with having the highest number of casualties in any operation of the war. -
Battle of Iwo Jima
The battle was fought on Iwo Jima Island, Japan. It was fought between the United States and Japan. American Victory. This Battle was hard fought between US Marines and Japanese Army. Due to Japanese war planes being destroyed islands like Iwo Jima were put at risk of invasion. American forces knew this and decided to invade the island. -
Battle of Okiwana
The battle was fought in the Pacific Ocean. It was fought between United States, United Kingdom, Canada, New Zealand, Australia and Japan. Allied Victory The battle was one of the bloodiest battles taking place in the Pacific ocean. On their way to taking over Japanese islands, the island of Okinawa was the last stop before reaching Japan. -
Battle of Berlin
The Battle was fought in Berlin, Germany. The battle was fought by Germany, the Soviet Union and Poland. Soviet victory. Ended WWII in Europe. After the death of Hitler German forces surrendered almost immediately.
