The German Blitzkrieg also known as “Lightning war” in German had its memories in earlier military strategy by Prussian general Carl Von Clausewitz. In the wake of their defeat in WWI, The German military leaders, have moved onto a conflict to bog down in deadly weaking of the trench warfare. The German Blitzkrieg happened so they could avoid a long war in the first phase of WWII in Europe. The effects on the German Blitzkrieg were to restrict and limit the loss of the soldiers and artillery.

From May 9 to June 22, 1940, an astonishing German attack on North-west Europe, known as The Battle of France, proceeded in the capture and overcoming of not only France but three other countries including Luxembourg, The Netherlands and Belgium. The Battle of France contained two more operations. In the first fall called Fall Gelb, German reinforced units were pushed through the Ardennes, in order to cut off and surround the Allied units that had advanced into Belgium. This ruined the economy.

On December 7th, 1941, at 7:55 am, The American Naval base Pearl Harbor was hit by a disappointing surprise…. Attack by the Japanese Forces. The base was hit by Japanese forces. The base has been hit by 100 Japanese fighting planes while there were base launching bombs coming down as well as torpedoes and shooting machine guns. If there was a chance that the Japanese would've beat Pearl Harbor in WWII there would be a good chance that The Japanese would take over the Pacific.

The Wansee conference was a meeting of Nazi officials on 01,20,1942, in the Wannsee suburb to plan the final process to solve something that was called the “Jew problem”. Spokesmen from the several government ministries, including state secretaries from the foreign office, the justice state industries, as well as representatives from the SS were at the conference. This is where the Nazi leaders visualized killing 11 million Jews later on than they killed another 6 million of them.

On June 14th, 1942, The Battle of Midway had an aircraft from Japanese carriers and they had fought and damaged the U.S base on Midway. They hoped to conquer the U.S Pacific fleet and use the Midway as a base to conquer Pearl Harbor. The effects were to put a stop to the growth of Japan and the Pacific and stop the British from sinking.

The Battle of Stalingrad was on July 17th in 1942. It started as a military operation between Russia and the forces of the Nazi Germans. The German forces tried to take on the City of Stalingrad considering that they felt the need that it was important to take over Russia.

The Allied Invasion was in September 3 through 16th in the year of 1943, during World war 2. They have imported all of the heroes from Africa to Sicily. The allies had the idea to invade Italy in September in the year of 1943.

On June 6th, 1944, The D-day battle code named operation overlord. The battle was an invasion by the allies of Western Europe from June 1944 to August 1944. There were approximately 156,000 Canadian, American and British forces that had landed on 5 beaches along a 50 mile stretch of the Normandy coast. The result of the battle was an allied victory.

The Battle of Iwo Jima was a huge major battle in 1945 leading to where the United States landed on and captured the island of Iwo Jima from the Imperial Japanese Army. The Island would be a planned place for the U.S considering that they needed somewhere for fighter planes and bombers to land as well as take off. This Battle is very well known as the messiest battle that had lasted 5 weeks. Almost 21,00 Japanese forces on the island were killed.

The Battle of the Bulge, was the very last German offensive on the western front in 1945. The Battle was supposed to stop the Allied' invasion of Allie using the Belgian port, Antwerp and split the allied lines. The Allies won the battle, except the German surprise attack on Allied forces that caused the Germans serious higher casualties. They kept losing military supplies and 120,000 people. German forces were dealt hopelessly, while the allied forces suffered only 75,000 casualties.

On August 6th, 1945, The United States dropped a bomb on Hiroshima. Three days later on August 9th,1945 they dropped another bomb on Nagasaki. They dropped the bombs on their first attempt and made Japan surrender on August 14th, 1945. There was an estimate of 199,00 people that have been killed.

The first concentration camp to be released was Majdanek. On January 27th, 1945, the biggest Nazi murdering center in Auschwitz was destroyed by the Soviets. There were some 10 camps that were released by the U.S and British forces.

The Battle of Okinawa was the last serious battle of WWII, and one of the bloodiest. On April 1st, 1945, The Navy lost more than 18,00 Marine and Army corps on The Pacific island in Okinawa.

VE day in Europe celebrates the wholehearted surrender of German Forces on May 8th, 1945. This day marks the end of WWII in Europe. They were celebrated in plenty of towns across Canada. These celebrations caused rioting in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

VJ day, meaning Japan day is the day Imperial Japan surrendered on August 15th, 1945. The day leads to the end of World War II. They gave Canadians and other Allied nations a big relief. Canadians celebrated on the streets and what they would call the survivors of the war that are coming home.
