    The Weimar Republic was put in place instead after the revolution. The Republic went through many problems, such as hyperinflation of currency, politcal extremists, and even disease. All of these problems allowed Adolf Hitler to play on the fears of the people and get elected.

Many countries bought and sold things to and from the United States, and many of these countries, including Germany, which already had economic problems, were also sent into a period of economic unstability.

    A non-aggression pact between the Soviet Union and Germany. It stated that the two countries would not go to war if one did not act belligerent towards the other, and that Germany would not help Japan in its unofficial war with the Soviet Union.

    This was the tipping point that had started the brewing a world war. Poland had allies in Great Britain and France. This also prompted the Soviet Union to invade Poland as well.

    The French surrendered after a month of fighting in their country. Germany had control of France until 1944. Many French citizens rebelled, but major damage done to the Nazis in France was not done until D-Day.

    This act of agression is what ended the Ribbentrop-Molotov Pact. This caused the Russians to join the war, which was a a tremendous aid to the Allies. If Hitler had paid attention to Napoleon the war may have ended very differently.

    The Japanese attacked the U.S. naval base at Pearl Harber in Hawaii. The Japanese wanted to attack the U.S. to prevent them from interfering with their plans. However this attack is what made the U.S.A. decide to enter the war.

    The Battle of Midway was a japanese attempt to demoralize the Americans with another defeat. It was a trap that was supposed to ensure their supremacy in the Pacific. American codebreakers, jowever, had discovered the location of the Japanese trap and ambushed them. 4 Japanese aircraft carriers were sunk, while only 1 American aircraft carrier and 1 destroyer were lost.

    D-Day was the name given to the first day of the Normandy Beach Landings. D-Day is a millitary term for the start of an operation. The Normandy Landings were what turned the tide of the war in Europe.

    Hiroshima was a Japanese city that was hit with an atomic bomb by the U.S. The U.S. threatened to unleash more of the nuclear weapons if Japan Surrendured. Japan did not believe that the U.S. did not have more, but were proven wrong when another bomb was dropped 3 days later.

    To end the war in the Pacific the U.S. dropped the second of the atomic bombs on Nagasaki. This is what caused The Japanese to surrendur.
