From this day on Hitler became the full leader of Germany and the Nazi Party skyrocketed from here with the help of the enabling acts. This all started because of how popular he became and how big and powerful the Nazi party was. Within the first few months, the oppression of Jews began, the burning of the books happened and concentration camps were opening. From here on out he caused problems, Germany became fully a Nazi party and left the league of nations. This became dangerous quickly. -
These laws were created to dehumanize Jewish people and started due to Nazi powers and Hitler blaming the Jews for the loss of WW1. The oppression of the Jewish people started in 1933 and only got worse since then. These laws got rid of citizenship, and wouldn't let Jewish people marry or hire Germans. Hitler wanted to have full German blood everywhere and full power everywhere. If you did not fit as blond hair blue eyes or had at least 2 Jewish Grandparents, you were considered a full jew. -
The Nazi occupation of Czechoslovakia happened mainly because they were a part of the Munich pact which tried to keep peace with Germany. Germany did not like that they could only get the part of the Czech with 3 million Germans in it, and a bunch of resources, but Germany wanted more. Nobody fought back and Germans took it over with ease, and now had full control and more men to fight for the Nazis. The Munich pact was a ploy to stall the inevitable for Germany, Britain then declares war. -
The tripartite act was very bad news for the allies, this met that germany was no longer alone in the war and had friends. Germany, Italy, and Japan all wanted full rule over the world and this was bad news. One of the main reasons of doing this was to deter the United States from joining the war, but that didnt work so well for them. This was signed by Ribbentrop for Germany, Ciano for Italy, and Saburo for Japan. -
This was bound to happen with how jews were treated in Germany since Hitler became chancellor, with concentration camps starting, the night of broken glass, and the burning of books. The genocide of Jews started this day when Four men with SS-Einsatzgruppe execute four Jews in the vicinity of Kovno, Lithuania. And it was not only Jews they did this to, soviets, homosexuals, the handicapped, and gypsies also were killed. -
The main reason that caused pearl harbor was because we were helping Britain with supplies and cut all trade to Japan, and they were not happy about that. So on this day they sent a bunch of planes and submarines to come and bomb pearl harbor. The reason they chose pearl harbor was because it was one of our military bases. The bombing of pearl harbor killed 2400 Americans and destroyed our submarines, boats, ships, and air crafts. This ultimately caused the U.S to declare war the next day. -
The battle of Stalingrad happened with the soviet union and Germany in southern Russia. It is one of the bllodiest battles in history and 2 million people dies in it. The battle was filled with the cold, horrible weather for the Germans, and was hard for them to fight in. The battle lasted 5 months and ended due to the axis powers in Russia running out of fuel, food, ammunition, and most of their supplies, so they surrendered. -
This day also known as the day that mainly American soldiers made their biggest and most deadly attack in WW2, when they stormed the beaches of Normandy. We planned to have it on a different day but the weather was too bad, and it was very overcast and rainy the day we had it which also made it very hard. It started the battle of Normandy and ultimately liberated western Europe from Nazi control. 4400 allies died that day, a lot from the first fleet of ships, we ended up winning and took over. -
The battle of he bulge also know as the Ardennes Counteroffensive, took place in the densely wooded ardennes forest. It was Germany's last offensive push of the war against the allies. Due to the weather, it was very hard for America to win this battle and had very high casualties. The reason it was called the battle of the bulge was due to the technique that the Germans used. The way they did this was create a bulge around the American Defenses, completely surrounding them. -
The bombing on Hiroshima was the beginning of the end of the war. We did this because we did not want to have another battle, we didn't want anymore american lives lost in this war. The bombing of Hiroshima killed 200,000 people in Japan, and even then they did not want to surrender. Three days later we bombed Nagasaki, killing an additional 80,000 and finally Japan surrendered, leading to the ultimate surrender of Japan and the Allies in September, finally bringing victory to the allies.
