    WWII starts
    Once Hitler had become Fuhrer of Germany, he then strengthened the country and signed treaties with Japan and Italy. After that, Hitler invaded Poland in September 1939 which influenced Great Britain and France to declare war on Germany, starting World War II
  • Axis Powers

    Axis Powers
    Germany, Italy, and Japan form an alliance. They were called the Axis Powers. They grew out of an anti-communism pact. The Axis Powers eventually occupied large parts of Europe, Africa, East and Southeast Asia, and islands of the Pacific Ocean.

    Franklin D. Roosevelt was the 32nd president of the United States, runnig from 1933 to 1945. He tried to stay neutral as possible, while still supplying the Allie Powers with munitions.

    Pearl Harbor
    Japan bombs Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. This was a total victory for Japan, it gave them a good headstart. They sunk 6 ships, destroyed 188 aircrafts, killed 2,402 men, and wounded 1,247. meanwhile, Japan only lost 4 ships, 29 aircrafts, and 64 men. After this, the United States Declared war on Japan, bringing the US into WWII
  • Battle of Midway

    Battle of Midway
    The Battle of Midway was considered the runing point of the war. While the Japanes were in the lead, this invasion gave the United States a little more leverage. Japan had planned the attack, but the US broke their code, and found out their plan. The US had enough time to prepare and get a plan together. The US dominated at that battle, with only a loss of 28 ships and 307 men; Japan lost 185 ships and 3,075 men.
  • D-Day

    D-Day
    This was the day that the US and many other countries of the Allies took war at Normandy. There were Allie troops from all over, and the only opponet were the Germans. We wiped them out, taking over Normandy. The Normandy landings was very successful.

    while the Soviets and the Germans were having the Battle of Berlin, Hitler realized that there was no hope, and that he was not going to win this battle. He did not want to die the same way Mussolini did, by public execution. Adolf Hitler committed suicide in his leader bunker.

    Shortly after Hitler's death, the military was falling apart and was being put under a lot of stress from war with multiple countries. They lost their will to fight, and the were demoralized. Different troops of Germany started surrendering from May 1st, until May 7th. VE Day (Victory Day of Europe) was held on May 8th

    First Atomic Bomb Ever Dropped On Hiroshima
    The United States dropped the first and second atomic bomb on Japan on August 6th & 9th, 1945. The first one was named "Little Boy," which was dropped on Hiroshima. Little Boy killed 90,000-166,000 civilians. The second one was named "Fat Man," which was dropped on Nagasaki. Fat Man killed 60,000-80,000.
  • Japan Surrenders

    Japan Surrenders
    Six days after the dropping of Fat Man, on the 15th of August, Japan proclaimed its surrender to the Allies. Japan signed an agreement called the "Instrument of Surrender" on the 2nd of September, which officially ended World War II
