    The London Naval Treaty was an agreement between the United Kingdom, the Empire of Japan, France, Italy and the United States which controled submarine warfare & the building of ships. Even though ships where used during WWII this put a damper on when they could have used them much sooner.

    Japanese invasion of Manchuria
    On September 19, 1931 the Kwantung Army of Japan invaded Manchuria. This invasion followed the Mukden Incident. Chief General Shigeru Honjo violated orders from Tokyo when he ordered his troops to invaded all the cities along the South Manchurian Railway. The railway is 693 miles long & it took days to invade every city.

    The Anschluss was when Austria was taken over by Greater Germany by the Nazis. Many peole within the country of Austria wanted to join Germanybecuase they were the only country who had got them selves out of a depression. Germanys economy was doing well so Austria wanted to be about of Germany but the Treatty of Versailles had forbidden that to happen. Hitler did it anyways, Taking over Austria was just another win for Hitler & people were mad no one was trying to stop him from taking over.

    The Non-Aggression pact also known as the German-Soviet Non-Aggression Pact and the Ribbentrop-Molotov Pact, was an agreement between Germany and the Soviet Union. It stated that neither country would not attack one another. So if Germany attacked Poland, then the Soviet Union would not come & help. When the Nazis attacked Poland ion September 1, 1939, the Soviets just stood by. Than two days later, the British declared war on Germany and World War II had begun.

France was divided into a German occupation zone in the north and west, a small Italian occupation zone in the southeast, and an unoccupied zone in the south.

    The Battle of Britain was an areial fight between the British and the Germans. It took place above the United Kingdom. The Germans where dropping bombs on Britain while the British where shooting at their planes in the air. The Battle of Britain went from July 10- September, 1940. In the end the British won. This may have slowed the Germans down from advancing and further.

    On June 22, 1941 over 4 million German troops invaded Russia. It did not take them long to take Moscow, Leningrad, and Stalingrad. It took almost 2 years before the Germans kick it into high gear. They focused their energy on taking Stalingrad. It took nine months and millions of people dead before the Germans knew they had lost. This was the begining of the end for the Germans. This is a great thing because with out their moral as high they would not be as strong,

    Pearl Harbor is a day that most Americans know of. On December 7, 1941 in the morning ,Japanese fighter planes dropped bombs onto the local Navy base in Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. The Japanese attacked the U.S becuase of their entry into WWII. They were afriad that the U.S navy would go attack the Empire of Japan. This is one of the biggest events in WWII. This made people in the U.S want to win the war that much more. It gave them modivation.

    Operation Torch Was the start of the Allie victory in the war. Allie power invaded French North Africa land and came out victorius. Others wanted to start in Germany but the thought was if troops pushed them out of French Nort Africa first than things would go smoother. The stradegy was smart and it worked the Allies got the land finally. This was important to the was becuse it seemed the Nazi's were losing their drive to take over.

    The invasion of Sicily was one of the greatest wins in the Allies history. At the time the Axis powers, Italy and Germany, had control over Sicily, Italy but that would soon change. They used air and land to conqure the land. The battle over the land lasted for 6 weeks and was only fought on the ground. The Allies won in the end which than led to them controling the rest of Italy. Benito Mussolini fell from power which also helped.

    On June 6, 1944 , invaded Normandy, France. Troops fought their way through France and Belgium and into Germany. While on the other side Russia was fighting their way through the east side. Troops stormed the beaches fighting their way through. This was one of the biggest events in WWII. It took over 520,000 lives. A very devastating fact.

    The war had been going on for many years and it was time for it to come to an end, By 1945 Japan was running low on moral and soldiers so the Japanese government was working on a peace treaty with the Soviet Union. Even as these terms were being made up the U.S was planning to drop bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. After they droped a month later the Japanese called it quits. The surrender ceremony was held on September 2 aboard the U.S. battleship Missouri.

    The bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki was one of the most devastating event in WWII. The U.S, United Kingdom and Canada all collaberated on building the two atomic bombs ever dropped in the history of warfare. The first bomb was dropped on August 6, 1945 over the city of Hiroshima. They named this one "Little Boy". The second bomb was dropped three days later on August 9. This one was called "Fat Man" & was dropped over Nagasaki. These bombs killed thousands of people and runied two citys.
