  • Assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand

    Assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand
    A direct cause of World War I, was the assassination Archduke Franz Ferdinand at Sarajevo by Gavrilo Princip. This led to the Austrians to try and crush Serbia because they saw the assassination as the perfect opportunity.
  • Russia Advances

    Russia uses their army and advances against Austria-Hungary for their ally Serbia. This was the start of the chain reaction that led the rest of the European Powers to mobilize.
  • Battle of Cantigny

    Battle of Cantigny
    After the USA entered the war in 1917 on the side of France and Britain, they had a draft for people to participate to fight. The Battle of Cantigny was the first American offensive of the war. They fought bravely which will prepare them for bigger Germany invasion later on.
  • Battle of Reims

    Battle of Reims
    After German's attack near Paris along the Marne near Reims, France had to think of a plan on hoe to attack back. So the Americans came in. Germans were coming in from all sides and the they had to fight offense, but there allied lines worked and they held the Germans off and pushed them back.
  • Economic Consequences

    The participating countries used a lot of money because of WWI. This led to countries having to raise their taxes and borrow money from their citizens. Which them ultimately led to inflation. This economic problem led to the rise fascism in Europe in WWII
  • Change in Society

    Because of World War I, society changed. Birth rates decreases from all the people dying from war. People left because they were losing their homes. Also, because all the men were at war, women had to replace them as workers in factories. The upperclass also lost there power in society because middleclass men and women demanded a say in things.
  • Pearl Harbor

    After Japan dismissed the US's demands to back of China they then plan an attack on Pearl Harbor. Japanese fighter planes attacked the American base at Pearl Harbor which then demolished U.S. aircraft and naval vessels, killing lots of people.

    Yalta is were the allied powers met to talk about the Soviet dominance in Eastern Europe. This conference led to the dual administration in Berlin and the break up of Germany, and of course the arrest of war criminals.

    World War II treated many people horrible. Mainly the Jews, they were sent to concentration camps and mostly were gonna wither die or be killed there. They had no freedom. This led to the oppression of Jews after WWII because they had such a bad view of them during the war, even though they are wonder regular people.
  • Europe Borders

    A consequence of the World War II was the redrawing and stabilization of the borders for Europe. The basic configuration of the Europe’s borders after World War II made by the agreement of the Helsinki Accords in 1975.
