  • Japanese Invasion of Manchuria

    Kwantung Army of the Empire of Japan invaded Manchuria immediattly following the Mukden Incident. Established puppet state, called Manchuko.

    President Paul von Hindenburg names Adolf Hitler chancellor of Germany.

    British and French prime ministers meet with Hitler to sign the Munich Pact giving Hitler portions of Czechoslovakia.

    Refered also as NIght of Broken Glass. Was a program against Jews throughout Nazi Germany.
  • Invasion of Poland

    Also known as the September Campain. Swept through Poland without much resistence most polish forces retreated.
  • Dunkirk

    Major evacuation of allied forces out of Dunkirk used military and civilian ships to save allies.
  • Attack on Pearl Harbor

    Surprise military attack by Japan on the American military base of Pearl Harbor. American fleet devistated, aircraft carriers survived.

    Transfer of 60,000 to 80,000 of American and Filipino prisoners by Japanese Imperial Army. Many died before reaching there destination

    One of the most important naval battles of the war. America defeats Japans proud navy. Japan had'nt suffered a defeat by navaly since 1863

    Also known as Operation Overlord. Was the invasion of Normandy by 156,000 American, British, and Canadian forces landed on 5 beaches.

    German offensive campain launched through densly forested Ardennes region. Know for the buldge it made in the allied line.

    Meating of the Allied heads of government. Discussed the reorginization of Europe after the war.
  • V-E Day

    Public Holiday marking the end of the war in Europe.
  • Bombing of Hiroshima

    America drops atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki first and only use of atomic bombs in warfare so far.
  • V-J Day

    The Day marking the end of world war 2 and the surrender of Japan.
