    -Cause was to defend Germans in Poland and to prevent anti-German alliance.
    -This was the beginning of beginning of WW2.

    -This is significant because after the World War 1, everybody realized the effects of wars. People did not want to go to war in any situation. However, by declaring war on Germany, people were disappointed, and they became hopeless.

    -As a result of Germany invading Poland, France and Britain declared war on Germany.

    This event is significant becuase France surrenders by signing an armistice. It was signed in the exact same train as the train that people signed in World War 1. This shows and proves how Hitler wanted world war 1 to have ended. Moreover, this left Britain to fight alone.

    -Hitler is taking revenge on France by humiliating the French with surrender papers.

    Historical Significance: -This event is significant because despite the fact that Britain had to fight alone, they won this battle. This gave everyone a hope that they can defeat Hitler.
    Continuity and Change: -The battle usually happened in the sky, meaning the air force was greatly involved. Nowadays battle also mostly occur from the sky, bombs being dropped on a country or missiles.

    Operation Barbarossa is in Action
    Historical Significance:Operation Barbarossa was Hitler's plan to invade the Soviet Union. The Soviets burned everything in their way, so that the Germans could not use anything. This is important because Hitler betrayed his ally and invaded it.
    Cause and Affect: -Germany and Soviet Union wanted to consume each other as much as possible in the prevention of increase of political and powerful rolls of each country.
    -This increased tensions between Soviet Union and USA for influence in the world.

    -When US increased their army and moved their army near Pearl Harbor, the Japanese who were near by felt threatened.This is significant because the Japanese's assumption caused trouble to the USA.
    Cause and Affect: -America had stopped buying and/or supplying oil to Japan and they wanted to attack US for it. -America was wounded so it joined WWII and declared war on Japan.

    Cause anad Affect: -Becuase of the bombings on Pearl Harbor by the Japanese, the Americans were pretty upset. Therefore, the next day, the United States of America and Britain declared war on Japan.

    -This was a turning point because the Japanese lost there aircraft carriers wich means they couldnt launch attacks on more islands.
    -After this Japanese were always on defensive.

    -Battle of Midway changed the way wars are fought at sea. No longer are large ships the key to victory; the airplanes became more important in battle.

    Historical significance: -This battle is signficant because it was a major victory for the Soviet Union and marked the end of the German advance on the Eastern front.
    -This is a turning point because Germany lost an entire Army, the initiative and its offensive capabilities at Stalingrad. After Stalingrad Germany was on the defensive and Russia had the initiative. Continuity and Change: -After losing the battle Germnay slowly lost the land they had conquered years before.

    Historical Significance: -This is important because 1000 British guns took the Axis soldiers by surprise.
    -By winning, this battle, the Allies were able to remove Germany and push Italy back.
    Historical Perspective: -El Alamein was an important place for the Allies, becaue it was a place where the Allies could gather supplies and armies to attack Italy.

    -The allies invaded the island of Sicily, which was the first piece of axis homeland lost in the war.

    Historical Significance: -This Invasion is significant because more than 2700 people died that day and by September they were able to liberate France, Belgium and Luxembourg.
    -The Allies were again able to take back France from the Axis Powers.

    As Allied forces moved toward Germany from the west, the Soviet army was now advancing toward Germany from the east. German tanks broke through weak American defenses in the Ardennes.

    -This battle is significant becuase it was the last major Nazi offensive against the Allies. The Allies were caught off guard, but managed to push the Germans back.
    -The Germans had little choice but to retreat, since there were no reinforcements available.

    Historical Significance: -Hitler was the number 1 wanted person in the world and needed to be killed, his suicide was a sign that the war is coming to an end.
    Cause and Affect:
    -The cause of Adolf Hitler`s death was to not fall into enemey hands.This affected in Germany surrendering.
  • Bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki

    Bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki
    Historical Significance: -This is significant because these two atomic bombs had caused the Japanese to finally surrender on September 2. Also, by Japan surrendering, the war had ended.
    -From this attack about 140,000 people died.
    Ethical Dimension: -The people of Japan were already so weak in military wise and people were starving of hunger, the country was a mess, atomic bomb made it worse.
