This is one of the best battles in Russian eyes, this is because it held off the Germans from entering Russia. If Germany won this battle it could have opened up lots of opportunity's because capturing the city would have given major resources and a very good location. -

After fighting in the pacific against Japan America had two atomic bombs that they dropped on Japan. Japan did not know that they only had two bombs they were worried that they had more and would bomb again. -
Soviet troops enter Berlin where Hitler is, shortly he committed suicide and asked that his body to be burned. He didn't want to stand trial because he will be beaten and murdered so he rather kill himself. In a matter of days Berlin fell to the Soviets.
