    Germany Invades Poland
    On September the 1st 1939, Germany declared war on Poland intentionally to start off his Blitzkrieg strategy. Germany instantly sent out troops and tanks to swarm the country as they slowly picked off resisting forces. The Polish were too underequiped even though they had 1 million troops and were easily defeated as a result of thier miscalculations. Britain would come to bomb Germany 3 days later.     Britain and France Declare War on Germany
    One day after Germany invaded Poland, Britain and France decided it was time to declare war on Germany as they promised to keep Poland safe. Mr Chaimberlain announced on air that they were fighting against Germany. World War 2 had just begun. Unfortunately, the British troops were merely flies to the German soldiers as they continued to invade Poland without any really problems.

    France Surrenders to Germany
    Hitler releases a fury of different attacks against the lower countries including France. The English and French troops as well as 10 million civilians were forced back by the German army. On June 17 the aging soldier announces during a broadcast to the French saying that it is with a heavy heart that I tell you today that we must stop fighting. The new Armistice is signed on June 22 revealing that two thirds of France is to be occupied by the Germans.The French army was discontinued.

    Germany Invades Russia
    On the 22nd of June 1941, Germany invaded Russia. This invasion was known as Operation Barbarossa. Germany managed to take Ukraine but were pushed back by the Soviet Union's counter force. Both sides suffered from massive losses. The loss of Operation Barbarossa allowed the eastern front to be opened up. This allowed other nations opposing Germany to move in and continue fighting.

    Just before 8 am, hundreds of Japanese war planes flew over Pearl Harbour where the American army camp was located. The battle lasted 2 hours and claimed around 20 American warships. After the attack, Franklin D. Roosevelt declared war on Japan

    D Day Landing in Normandy, France
    The D Day landings were a very ambitious and well thought out plan to try to retake France. Roughly 156,000 American, British and Canadian forces swarmed Normandy to try to defeat the Germans. By late August 1944, Germany was defeated symbolising the start of the end of the war.

    This was a bombing by the RAF using 722 aircrafts to bomb the main city of Germany. The bombing took more than 100,000 casualties and was devistating to the German Community.

    Germany's success rate was going extremely low and Hitler knew that he had lost the war. He asked Dr Werner Haase to test cyaide on his dog to test if the pill was strong enough to kill his wife. Once in their bunker, Hitler shot himself and his wife took the cyanide pill. Their bodies were burnt and were later discovered after the war.

    Nukes dropped in Japan
    On the 6th of August 1945, America dropped the world's first atomic bomb in the city of Hiroshima. The explosion itself killed around 8,000 people, not including the ones that suffered later from radiation poisoning. 3 days later, another bomb was dropped on Nagasaki killing roughtly 40,000 people. After the bombs were dropped, Hirohito announced Japan's surrender.

    80,000 lives and counting were taken when America dropped a nuke on Hiroshima. While it is thought that Japan had to surrender, many of the officials opposed the idea of surrendering. The Japanese had no choice after the second nuke went off causing another 40,000 deaths. They could not fight any longer.
