    After the death of the German president Paul Von Hindenburg Hitler had all the power however he didn't want to be called the president out of respect for Hindenburg so he gets rid of the role of president in Germany and declares himself Fuhrer This is important because this is when he becomes dictator and begins to take over he makes an alliance with Mussolini and Francisco Franco which created the axis powers

    In March 1938 Hitler took Austria later in September 1938 he takes the southern portion of Czechoslovakia so in September 1938 a meeting between Britain France and Germany was held and the Munich Pact pact was created this allowed Hitler to keep the land he took just as long as he didn't take anymore but he was lying he then took the rest of Czechoslovakia and Poland as a result on September 4th 1939 Britain and France Declare war on Germany this is important because it officially starts the war

    D-Day also known as operation overlord is when the 175,000 allies stormed the beaches of Normandy France they wanted to do it the day before but the weather wasn't good enough about 4000 where killed this would be the end of Germany's occupation of France This is important because it turned the war around in the allies favor because Germany spread there forces too thin and the allies could now start taking back more land

    Dachau was the first concentration camp it opened March 20th 1933 the concentration camp first anyone who could oppose the Nazi party while making the enabling acts it later took in Jews Jehovah's Witness Mentally and Physically disabled people and many more they were forced to work in poor conditions and when they couldn't anymore they killed in the gas chambers Dachau's liberation was important because they people inside were now saved however they had to stay there till the battle was over

    Hitler committed suicide on April 30th 1945 In a German raid shelter with Eva Braun who he had just married in the shelter knowing that the had lost the war and that there was no way out he shot himself and ended his life Eva Braun took a cyanide pill and died this is important because Hitler was in control of Germany and now that he was gone there was nobody to stand in the allies way and they were now closer to ending the war

    With Hitler gone and Germany suffering a devastating defeat Germany Unconditionally surrenders to the allies on May 7th 1945
    V-E Day was celebrated by having many crowds of people singing and dancing there were lots of fire works and things were looking up for the war this was important because now the war was over with Germany and only the war with japan remained now that the soldiers who were fighting the Germans could fight the Japanese The war would be over even sooner

    Japan knew they were loosing but they weren't going to give up anytime soon so to end the war quickly it was decided that an atomic bomb would be dropped on Japan The first atomic bomb Little boy was dropped on Hiroshima on August 6th 1945 at 8:15 killing about 140,000 even with that japan still didn't surrender so the second bomb fat man was dropped on Nagasaki on the same day at 11:02 am killing about 74,000 people This was important because this was what was going to force Japan to surrender

    On August 15th 1945 Japan surrenders marking the end of the war and V-J Day the Japan surrender treaty signed on the USS Missouri

    Japanese Signed the treaty but the Soviets Poland and Czechoslovakia refused to sign the treaty on April 28th 1952 the US officially ended the war with Japan V-J was celebrated with many parades This was important because it was the end of WW2 however 75 million people died 20 million military personnel and 40 million civilians
