    Evacuation of Dunkirk

    The Evacuation of Dunkirk, was the evacuation of the Allied soldiers during World War II from the beaches and harbor of Dunkirk, in the north of France, between 26 May and 4 June 1940. The operation began after a multitude of Belgian, British, and French troops were surrounded by German troops during the six-week-long Battle of France. The successful evacuation had increased Allied moral and would see them fight again, however, it allowed Germany to completely control part of France uncontested.
