    Operation overloard aka d-day was an attack by the allies on the beaches of normandy. nearly 156,000 US British and Canadian forces were sent out on this attack and 4000 of them were killed. this stunned the allies but later came to victory in normandy in August of 1944.

    The battle of the buldge was Hitler and Nazi Germanys attempt at splittin off the allied forces in north west Europe. Their plan was to use lightning warfare and catch them off guard. Germany drove the allies back but in the end the allies overcame the Nazis because they were not perpaired for winter in Russia. The battle is so signifigant because the Nazi army lost alot of weapons and supplies, so much that they could not replace it. this helps the allies march toward victory. it ended jan. 25.

    This was a battle fought in Japan between the US marines and the Japanese army. The marines attacked the base holding 23,000 japanese soldiers this battle was won by the US and helped start to secure victory in Japan. the battle ended on March 26 1945.

    this was one of the larger battle including 287,000 US troops and 130,000 japanese troops. the battle lasted 82 days 142,000 casualties total. although both sides had large casualties the allies with the battle on June 22 1945.
