  • Germany invade Czechoslovakia

    Hitler ordered the Nazi soldiers to invade Czechoslovakia. Hitler said to the Priminister "if you dont let me get my soldiers in i will bomb you'. So the Priminister let Hitler march his men in.

    German ships open fired on the garrison of the Westerplatte Fort, Danzig. Hitler got his soldiers and bombers to attack Poland.

    The Prime Minister of Britain, Neville Chamberlain, declares war on Germany. France, Australia and New Zealand also declare war on Germany.

    The Battle of the Atlantic, which lasted from September 1939 until the defeat of Germany in 1945, was the war’s longest continuous military campaign. During six years of naval warfare, German U-boats and warships – and later Italian submarines – were pitted against Allied convoys transporting military equipment and supplies across the Atlantic to Great Britain and the Soviet Union.

    Operation of Barbossa is when the Germans attacked the Soviet Union as the Germans believed they were destroying the European way of life. The USSR were very weak at the time so it was a perfect time to attack.

    The the US and Britain landed boats at Normandy, France and they treid to take over the Germans as they were still in full force in France.
  • Hiroshima Atomic bomb

    They dropped an atomic bomb on the Japanese city of Hiroshima, instantly killing around 80,000 people.
  • Nagasaki Atomic bomb

    Three days later, a second bomb was dropped on Nagasaki, causing the deaths of 40,000 more. The dropping of the bombs, which occurred by executive order of US President Harry Truman, remains the only nuclear attack in history. In the months following the attack, roughly 100,000 more people died slow, horrendous deaths as a result of radiation poisoning.
