    When a secret revolutionary society of peasant students learned of Franz Ferdinand coming to visit they started to plan his assassination. They got weapons from the black hand that was connected to Serbian army. Ferdinand and his Sophie received many warnings to cancel their trip. The security detail was more worried for food poisoning then actually guarding them. (the description was to long so I will split it in half.)

    On the last day of their trip one of the secret revolutionary society threw a bomb at Ferdinand. But the bomb bounced off of the car. they decided to keep going. They made a wrong turn and got shot a point blank range.

    On may 7 1915 British open liner Lusitania got torpedoed without warning. The Germans did this. Within 20 minutes Lusitania sunk into the Celtic sea. There was 1,959 people in all on Lusitania, including 100 Americans.

    One of the largest battles of WW1. Fought between July 1st and November 1st, 1916 near the Somme river. Was one of the most bloody battles in WW1. By the end of the battle both alliances together would lose more than 1.5 million people. This was the first great offensive in WW1 for the British. French attacked Somme, achieved greater advances with fewer casualties than the British.

This also put into motion social and political changes that would eventually lead to the formation of Soviet Union. Both of the revolutions took place over a couple of months, civil unrest existed in Russia for quite awhile.

    A year after the 2nd battle of Aisne a German general decided to try to get the territory back. on may 27th 1918 a preliminary bombardment caused heavy damage to the trenches. then a gas attack happened. then a infantry attack followed up the poison gas. the Germans got 15km. the battle continued on may 30th. before the Germans got to Paris the allies counterattacked. this counter attack halted the German advance by June 6th.
