The first concentration camp to open was the camp named Dachau. Each camp would take Jews or anyone that opposed Hitler and the Nazi Party. The camps put the workers though terrors many times making them starve of putting them through medical testing.

Night of Broken Glass is when Germans stormed Jewish storefronts and apartments. They lit fire to them and berated Jewish men as they came home from work. Germans also destroyed synagogues which are Jewish places of worship.

The Battle of Britain was a turning point in the war for the allies. The Royal Air Force defeated the German Air Force when the Germans tried to bomb Britain. This particular battle was used as a military campaign.

America cut off trading with Japan when they found out what they were doing in Asia. This caused Japan who had a very strong military to plan to attack Pearl Harbor which was where the US had a large army base. They attacked and it came as a complete surprise to Americans. This caused the Us to declare war against Japan and make work camps separating Japanese-Americans from the rest of the population.

Alan Turning was a British mathematician who broke the Enigma Code. The code would change every 24 hours so as soon as the group of scientists would be close to solving it the code would change. Turning created a way of reading the code called the Bombe. Yet in 1952 he was arrested for being homosexual and was found dead from cyanide poisoning a few years later. The worst part is that many people did not realize he helped save millions of lives and help stop the war until long after his death.

Allied forces attacked a beach in Normandy and were faced with multiple setbacks including getting around traps, fighting on an incline, and trying to get to the beach from ships that were still in the water. General Eisenhower planed this attack and the allies received help from the air and sea. Because of this it leads to a victory but not without losing lots of men.

The German Army planed a surprise attack on the allies in the Ardennes Mountains of Belgium, France, and Luxembourg. During the fight a heavy snowstorm passes over and causes a difficulty to both sides. During the Bulge communication, morale, weapons, and even trucks broke down. A few weeks later the Germans start to lose manpower, ammunition, and hope causing the allies to win. The battle was known as one of the bloodiest and well-fought battles in WWII history.

The first concentration camp was liberated just before the Germans surendered. Soviet forces moved a lot faster than the Germans had expected and liberated camps called Stutthof, Sachsenhausen, and Ravensbrueck. US troops later freed Jews at Buchenwald concentration camp near Weimar, Germany. Eisenhower took US troops through these camps to make sure that they realize how bad this terror was. He also wanted to make sure that this would never happen again.

The US started on the Manhattan Project when the realized Japan would fight until they were all gone. The Manhattan project worked with scientists from all over the world to split up uranium molecules and create a gigantic explosion. This was achieved and the first Atomic Bomb was created. The problem was that the US never tested this and it caused radiation levels to reach a maximum high and destroy everything in its path. The US was not smart in not testing it and it reflected back at them.
