  • Munich Conference

    This conference was held in Germany. The conference was held to talk about the future of the Sudetenland. Sudetenland created serious political instability in Germany.
  • Non-agression pact

    The Non-agression pact was between Germany and the Soviet Union. It was finished only days before the start of World War two. This pact was an agreement that the two countries would not attack each other. Germany and the Soviet Union both gained something out of this pact, Germany protected itself from fighting a two front war and the Soviet Union gained inlcuding parts of Poland and the Baltic.
  • Germany Invades Poland

    German troops invaded Poland by both land and air. Planes, tanks, and air forces were released with fast speeds leaving behind a lot of damage. This war was one of the first Blitzkrieg wars, meaning it was a very fast attack. This attack lasted only a couple of hours but still left behind a lot of damage. Germanys excuse for attacking Poland was that they were aggressive.

    Battle of Britain

    The second air campaign of World War II. It was waged by the German Air Force against the United Kingdom. The goal of the German's was to reach air superiorty over the Royal Air Force, Britain was succesful in this battle and not Germany during this battle.
  • Lend Lease Act

    The Lend-Lease act was providing U.S Military aid to foreign nations during World War II. Basically how it worked was people just had to pay a little bit of money to who ever they were getting the military aid from and then when they were finished with it they would just return it back to the orginal people they got it from.

    Operation Barbarossa

    This was Nazi Germanys name for the invasion of the soviet union. This was the largest invasion in the history of warfare. This operation was a failure, and it led Hitler into wants for operation inside the USSR.

    The Holocaust

    A genocide in which about 6 million jews were killed by the Nazi Regime and its collaborators. The holocaust took place throughout Nazi Germany and German occupied territories. Jews were heavily targeted from 1941-1945.
  • Pearl Harbor

    A surprise military attack that was led by the imperial Japan navy.This attack led to the involvement of United States in World War two. All 8 of the U.S Navy battleships were damaged with four being sunk.

    Battle of Midway

    This was an American attack on the Imperial Japanese Navy. Four japanese air craft carriers were sunk, some that were used only months before in the attack on Pearl Harbor. Japan had a hard time replacing its losses, while the United States had no problem with it because of our industries. America defeated the Japanese in this battle.

    Battle of Stalingrad

    Nazi Germany and it's allie fought the soviet union in hope to gain Stalingrad, which is a city in Southern Russia. This was a very large and bloody battle. Taking away this city would eventually lead to the fall of Russia, they were already weak as it was. This battle was unsuccesful, they didn't gain the city.
  • Blitszkrieg

    Blitzkreig meaning a "lighning war", was attacking with heavily backed up close air support. Blitzkreig was a german war tactic, with all of the technologies of war supplies, it made this easier to happen and to strike fast and leave behind a lot of damage.

    The day of the invasion of western Europe by allied forces in World War two.

    Battle of the Bulge

    The Battle of the Bulge happened throughout Belgium, Luxembourg and Nazi Germany. This battle was planned by Eric Von Manstein. The goal of this battle was to recapture the harbor of Antwerp. This battle was unsuccesful, they did not obtain the port. This was the largest battle fought by the Americans in World War II. The Americans lost 81,00 men while the German lost 100,000 killed, wounded and captured.

    Battle of Iwo Jima

    This battle was an invasion to capture the two islands of Iwo Jima from the Japanese Imperial Army. Both of these islands were owned by the Japanese, There was many deaths both from Americans and also from Japanese, but this battle had been one when it was more Americans who died than Japanese. American wanted these islands because people were able to predict attacks two hours in advance from them, this was a succesful battle but presently America doesn't own or have any control over Iwo Jima.

    Battle of Okinawa

    This battle occured between Japan and America. Although it was a decent amount of time that it lasted Japan surrendered two months after the end of the battle. After the bombings of Hiroshime and Nagasaki Japan was afraid and this is what caused them to surrender.
  • V-E Day

    This day marked the end of World War II in Europe. Celebrations were held all around the world for the defeat of Germany, and the war coming to an end.
  • Bombings of Hiroshima/Nagasaki

    These bombings are the only use of nuclear weapons in warfare history. These bombs were dropped in the final stages of World War two. These bombs killed a minimum of 129,000 people.
  • V-J Day

    On this day Japan surrendered ending World War two.
  • Warsaw Pact

    This was a pact between eight communist states of Central and Eastern Europe. The purpose of the warsaw pact was for Soviets to have control over military forces in Central and Eastern Europe. This occured during the cold war. The Warsaw Pact added existing agreements.
