  • Japan invades China

    This invasion was basically back and fowarth between the two countries. Japan may have taken a few of their areas in China, but China would always manage to recover and survive through it. In the end the was resulted in a stalemate, neither side really gained anything for themselves.
  • Munich Conference

    This was an agreement between the two countries Germany and Britain. This basically allowed for Germany to extend its territory into parts of Czechoslovakia.
  • Non-Aggression Pact

    Non-Aggression Pact
    With the Soviet leader Joseph Stalin already on the edge of having another major war, they had to have something done. Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union signed the German-Soviet Nonaggression Pact. This basically states that the two countried will stay at peace with each other for 10 years.
  • Invasion of Poland

    The invasion of Germany into Poland was also known as the Defensive war. This was also called the mark of World War II in Europe. This was a suprise to Poland completely. Also, this made Poland become divided and annexed.
  • Blitzkreig

    This date marks the day that Germany also invaded Poland. The reason that this date is used is because it is the first time that Nazi Germany utilized their new war tactic called Blitzkreig. Blitzkreig is also known as lightning war. This tactic was meant to be fast, powerful, and started with suprise against the enemy.
  • The Holocaust

    The Holocause was a dreadful time period where German Nazi leader Adolf Hitler ordered of the mass killing of Jews, and other ethnicities. More than 6 million were killed in all. They would be sent to concentration camps where they would either be killed instantly or worked to death in absolutely horrible conditions.
  • Battle of Britain

    The Battle of Britain was when Adolf Hitler was determined to claim Britain for himself. The battle was partly taken to the skies, and dog fights were common. This battle also put an end to the American isolationism. Making the Americans view that war was impossible to avoid.
  • Lend-Lease Act

    The Lend-Lease act was signed by President Roosevelt. This act basically said that it allowed him to sell, exchange, lend, transfer titles, or dispose of any other governent from the US. If any government posed a threat to the United States he would become disconnected with them.
  • Operation Barbarossa

    This was one of Germany's Code Names for the fights they had. This particular one was from when Germany invaded the Soviet Union.
  • Pearl Harbor

    The bombing of Pear Harbor was a detrimental day for the Americans. It is a harbor near Honolulu in Hawaii. The Japanese performed a suprise attack on the U.S. Naval Base and other parts of the harbor that were military related. This resulted in the U.S. entry into World War II.
  • Wannsee Conference

    A conference that had taken place in Berlin with Nazi officials.The entire reason that they even came together that day was to talk about their "Final Solution" of the Jewish Question that needed to be resolved. (how jews were treated)
  • Bataan Death March

    On the Bataan Peninsula where the Japanese and Americans were fighting, the Americans eventually surrendered. In the end, about 75,000 Filipino and American troops on Bataan made a 65 mile march to prison camps.
  • Battle of Midway

    The battle of midway was a naval battle. It was a fight between the United States Navy who was being commanded by 3 people. Then there was the Imperial Japanese Navy. The outcome of this battle ended up with the US Navy Taking the lead and becoming victorious.
  • Battle of Stalingrad

    Once again another huge battle in World War II. This battle was horribly remembered for its civilian casualties, and close quarters combat. It is also known for being one of the bloodiest battles in the history of World War II. In this battle, Germany also utilized the Luftwaffe bomb, which turned anything it hit into rubble.
  • D-Day

    D-Day is the day where the Allied Powers invaded the beach area of Normandy (northern france). At that current time, Germany was occupied in France also.The victorious side ended in favor of the Allied Powers.
  • Battle of the Bulge

    The Battle of the Bulge was a time for Adolf Hitler to utilize his offensive strategy. Known as blitzkreig, basically where they suprise attack the enemy and make it extremely fast. In conclusion of the battle the allied powers won. Although the allies won, their forces were heavily depleted.
  • Battle of Iwo Jima

    Iwo Jima was when the Americans invaded Japan. The Americans arrived on the shore and had to fight roughly 23,000 Japan army and naval troops. The conditions werent the best for the Americans while fighting. But eventually, after a month of fighting, the Americans came out on top victorious.
  • Battle of Okinawa

    Okinawa is an island that is nearby Japan. The US were wanting control over Okinawa. The battle ended up in a close quarter fight with the US having marines and regular army troops. This was considered one of the greatest victories of the Pacific campaign for the US.
  • V-E Day

    V-E Day also stands for Victory in Europe Day. This was a celebration upon the surrender of Germany. Germany's unconditional surrender of their armed forces is what started it all.This celebration was blown up all over the world and celebrated by many.
  • Bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki

    On this date, an American B-29 bomber plane dropped the world's first ever used atomic bomb in the Japanese city of Hiroshima. It completely destroyed 90 percent of the city, and killed about 80,000 once the bomb dropped, and others would die of too much radiation exposure.
  • V-J Day

    This day, August 15, 1945 is the day that the Japanese ceased all fighting in World War II. Then on September 2nd, Japan finally agreed to formally surrender.
  • Warsaw Pact

    The overall main purpose of the Warsaw Pact was to create a treaty. The areas that were included were Albania, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, East Germany, Hungary, Poland, Romania, and the Soviet Union. A nickname for this pact was called "The Treaty of Friendship." Symbolizing how they all came together.
