     First Sino Japanese War
    The Sino Japanese War was fought between Qing Dynasty China and Meiji Japanese primarily over control of Korea. The war resulted in a Japanese victory, which was an incredible impact and significant loss of prestige for the Qing Empire. The war marked the emergence of Japan as a major world power and demonstrated the weakness of Chinese empire.

    The Japanese Invasion of China, also known as the Second Sino-Japanese War, was a military conflict fought primarily between the Republic of China and the Empire of Japan.The war was divided into three phases: a period or rapid Japanese advance until the end of 1938, a period of virtual stalemate until 1944, and the final period when Allied counterattacks, mainly in the Pacific and on Japan’s home islands, brought Japan’s surrender.

    The Munich Conference was held in Munich and included leaders from Great Britain, France, Italy and Germany. Throughout the conference the leaders came to the agreement to allow Germany to annex Sudetenland, in western Czechoslovakia due to the fact that Hitler threatened to unleash a European war.

    The Nazi-Soviet Aggression Pact was an agreement signed between Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union that agreed to take no military action against each other for the next 10 years. This pact was so significant because both leaders, Joseph Stalin (Soviet Union) and Adolf Hitler (Germany) used the pact in ways to support their country.

    The Invasion of Poland occurred September 17, 1939 when German forces bombarded Poland on land and in the air. Adolf Hitler was seeking to regain lost territory and ultimately rule Poland.On September 3, they declared war on Germany, initiating World War II. To Hitler, the conquest of Poland would bring Lebensraum, or “living space,” for the German people

    Battle of Moscow
    The Battle of Moscow started when Axis forced invaded the Soviet Union and destroyed most of the Soviet Air Force on the ground. They were able to advance deep into the Soviet territory using blitzkrieg tactics to destroy entire armies. German forces were finally defeated after five months of combat.

    The attack on Pearl Harbor made a tremendous impact on Americans. Japanese airplanes made a surprise attack on the US Navy in Pearl Harbor. They destroyed many ships and killed thousands of men. Japan attacked America in hopes that they would destroy the US Pacific Fleet and weaken the resolve of American people.

    Battle of Midway
    The Battle of Midway was fought in June 1942, and is considered one of the most decisive battles of World War Two. Americans destroyed four of Japan’s aircraft carriers and effectively ruined Japan’s naval strength. Before the battle the Imperial Navy of Japan had swept aside all of its enemies from the Pacific and Indian Oceans, but the strength was taken away after they were defeated during the Battle of Midway.

    The Battle of Coral Sea was a major naval battle between the Imperial Japanese Navy and naval and air forces from the United States and Australia, taking place in the Pacific Theater of World War II. This battle was very important because even though it was a draw, it was the first time the Allies had stopped the Japanese advance

    Battle of Stalingrad
    The Battle of Stalingrad was fought July 17, 1942 to February 2, 1943 and resulted in successful Soviet defense of the city. The Germans were stopped from advancing into the Soviet Union and it also marked the turning point in the war in favor of the Allies.
  • Battle of El Alamein

    Battle of El Alamein
    The Battle of El Alamein was fought October 23, 1942 to November 11, 1942. The first battle was in Egypt and ended in stalemate, the second one was decisive. It marked the beginning of the end for the Axis in North Africa. The Second Battle of El Alamein was a turning point in the North African campaign. It ended the long fight for the Western Desert, and was the only great land battle won by the British and Commonwealth forces without direct American participation.
  • Tunisia Campaign

    Tunisia Campaign
    The Tunisian campaign began with an Allied amphibious landing near Sfax in eastern Tunisia on January 5, 1943, and an attack on German positions at Gafsa in west central Tunisia on March 17, 1943. The Allies made slow but steady progress in forcing the Axis troops into a pocket along the north central Tunisian coast.This resulted in axis forces in North Africa, having sustained 40,000 casualties in Tunisia alone, surrendered; 267,000 German and Italian soldiers became prisoners of war.

    D Day was the invasion of Normandy on June 6, 1944. The Allied forces attacked German forces on the coast of Normandy, France, with a huge forced of over 150,000 soldiers. The Allies attacked and gained a victory that became the turning point for World War II in Europe
  • Battle of Bulge

    Battle of Bulge
    The Battle of Bulge was the largest battle ever fought on the western front in Europe and the largest battle ever fought by the United States Army. The battle was the very last Nazi offensive against the allies in WWII, it was a last ditch attempt by Hitler to split the Allies in two in their drive towards Germany and destroy their ability to supply themselves.
