    The Treaty of Versailles

    The treaty of Versailles is a treaty that was signed to make Germany remove most of its army, and make Germany follow a strict set of rules. It also made Germany demilitarize certain areas of Germany, and it said Germany has to pay for all the damage it inflicted. This is important to World War II because this is the treaty that made Hitler invade, and want to conquer everything. He found it unfair and wanted to remove it.
  • Hitler Becomes Fuhrer

    Hitler Becomes Fuhrer

    In August of 1934, Hitler dissolves the presidency, and declares himself Fuhrer after Hindenburg's death. This is important because with Hitler becoming Fuhrer, this allowed him to make his own laws, and run Germany how he wants it to go. This is essentially what started Hitlers invasion and World War II.

    The Non-Aggressive Pact was a pact signed between the Soviet Union and Germany, that said that Germany wont attack the Soviet Union, and the Soviet Union won't attack Germany. This is important because this allows Hitler to focus all of his attention on one front during the war. This allowed Hitler to take France with ease, because he wasn't worrying and using more strength on the other front in the Soviet Union.

    When Hitler invades Poland, this is what starts WWII. This is because France and Britain both declare war on Germany. This is important because this moment is what gets millions of French and British soldiers killed. It is also what leads Hitler to try and dominate the world. This gets everyone in a ton of dept, and a ton of destruction was inflicted in every war torn city.

    A US naval base located in Hawaii was surprised attacked by the Japanese. 3,400+ causalities, several ships were damaged/sunk, and more than 180 US aircraft were destroyed. This is important because this made the US join the war. This ultimately led to the killing of millions of US soldiers. It also put the US at war, which costed the US a lot of money.

    D-day was a US invasion into France. The goal was to capture the beaches to get the Axis powers out of France. This battle proved to be significant because it got the Americans and generally the Allied powers into Europe. This battle allowed the US to establish a base in Europe, which could be used to carry items and expand to other parts of Europe. This was the beginning of American intervention into Europe.

    In 1944, Hitler attempted to over power the Allies one last time. His plan was to make a bulge into France, and encircle and split the US an British army in half. This attempt failed, mainly due to the horrible weather. This battle was important because it was the battle that basically showed all people that the war was coming to the end, and that Germany's power was deteriorating. Many German soldiers died at this battle, and they were losing supplies.

    On May 7th, 1945, Germany unconditionally surrenders to the Allies, which means they surrender without getting any say in what is going to happen to them. This is important because it ends the fighting in Europe, and saves millions of more lives from getting killed in the war. This is the end of World War II in Europe.

    August 6th, the US drops the first ever atomic bomb on the Japanese city of Hiroshima. A few days later, another bomb was dropped on Nagasaki, which was less brutal than the first. This was important because these two bomb droppings are what ended the war completely. It forced Japan to surrender to the Allies, which is what happened. This is what ended World War II.
