    Many died of starvation and diseases. Approximately six million Jews died during the period of Holocaust but the numbers are only an estimate. Jews were bad people in Hitlers eyes and he wanted them out if the country. He didn't want a mixed race.

    Once Adolf Hitler became Chancellor, he changed everything. He declared war on Poland and not long after that Britain and France declared war on Germany.

    Hitler attacked France beacuse he hated them for the defeat Germany suffered in World War I. Also Hitler wanted their territory so badly that he was ready for anything, even a war.

    The Japanese and Australians fought in Papua New Guinea to protect Port Moresby and Australia from Japanese invading. They fought in the Kokoda Track / Trail in the hilly, muddy and poor climate.

    Battle of Stalingrad is considered the turning point of World War II. It was fought during the winter of 1942 to 1943. This war was the bloodiest war in the modern history. Russia's weather was against the Nazi Germany. They got short of supplies and Hitler's amry was turned down.

    The operation was the largest single-day amphibious invasion of all time, with over 130,000 troops landing on 6 June 1944. 195,700 Allied naval and merchant navy personnel were involved. The landings took place along a stretch of the Normandy coast divided into five sectors: Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno and Sword.

    The US wanted to show their power to the rest of the world and they prvied it by creating a nuclear bomb and later destroying Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Roosevelt needed to end the war as soon as possible and the bomb was the answer.
