    Adolf Hilter Steps Up His 10,000 year Reich
    With President Paul von Hindenburg's death, Germany's Fuhrer (leader), Adolf Hitler takes his place. With this position, Hitler rises his Third Reich. He states that this Reich will reach 10,000 yerars of stand.The Third Reich is also known as "The Nazi Party." Mein Kampf becomes a key role to Hitler's dicatorship. One major cause is the Holocaust.

    Under Hitler's Mein Kampf, his goals lied upon annexing Austria. On March 12, 1938, his goal was accomplished. Although forbidden by the Treaty of Versailles, Hilter desired for all German-speaking countries to reunite. After many attempts to annex Austria, the 1938 attempt succeeded. In 1934, Hitler had ordered Austrian Nazis to create a havoc in Austia with the purpose to overthrow the Austrian government. The chancellor was murdered but the military intervened and avoided Hitler's goal.

    Battle of Britian
    Through airforce attack, Great Britian was attacked by German Luftwaffe The strategy was known as Operation Sea Lion. The main goal was to destroy as much of Britian as possible. The attack was limited for the RAF (Britian's airforce) had better equipment to fight the invasion. They had more planes. pilots and experience. The turning point of the war was the radar. It caught airplanes in the spot to attack.

    Pearl Harbor Near Honolulu, Hawaii, American naval base at Pearl Harbor was attacked by Japenese fighter planes. Within just two hours, the Japanese destroyed 20 American naval vessels-including 8 battleships and 200 airplanes. 1,000 soldiers were wounded and 2,000 lost their lives. The day after Pearl Harbor attack, President Franklin D. Roosevelt asked Congress to decalre war on Japan. Japan, Germany, and Italy became allies three days after and declared war on The United States.

    Due to Sicily's Ally invasion, the Italians became rebellious against Mussolini. While Mussolini held a meeting with Hitler, U.S. airplanes striked Rome with bombs and killed 2,000 civilians. King Victor Emmanuel ordered to arrest Mussolini and replace him. Marshal Pietro Bagdoglio was Mussolini's replacement. He encountered secret aggrements with the Allies to take Italy out of war. This lead to Bagdoglio accepting a "Short Military Armstice." The anouncement was said to be Italy's surrender.

    A German counteroffensive attack that lead to their diminished rule-time.The purpose of the attack was to split the British and U.S. forces into Northern France-last attempt. With the cold,snow,and shortage of fuel, German troops were not able to succeed. U.S. lost and wounded about 80,000 men, while Germany lost over 100,000 with war equipment. After an ally victory, their march to Berlin kept on going.

    Right before Germany officially surrenderd, Adolf Hitler commited suicide on April 30. He knew his 10,000 year Reich came to its fall. General Dwight Eisenhower demanded the complete surrender andit came about. Failure of Nazi troops in Berlin led to acceptance of surrender to the Allies. The following day became known as "Victory in Europe."

    U.S. Bombs Japan After President Franklin D. Roosevelt's death, Harry Truman ordered the dropping of bombs on Japan for the safety of American citizens. The scientist Albert Einstein also contributed to his decision. The Allies won the Race of bombs because the Axis were trying to create them also. The first atomic bomb was on Aug. 6, 1945 on Hirsohima. It killed between 80,000-120,000 civilians. The second bomb on Aug. 9, 1945 was dropped at Nagasaki and killed between 35,000-75,000 people.

    With the two atomic bombs and Soviet's declaration of war on Japan, Japan was left with no choice. The destroyed cities left the ecomony vulnerable.The formal surrender was held in the USS Missouri. Japanese Foreign Minister Mamoru Shigemitsu and General Yoshijiro Umezu signed behalf the Japanese government and Supreme Commander MacArthur signed on behalf of the United Nations. The day became known as "Victory in Japan". History's brutal world was had come to an end.
