On this day Japan had attacked a U.S. naval base in Hawaii. As a result of the attack on Pearl Harbor, 2400 American citizens and soldiers had been killed.

The Doolittle Raid
After the attack on Pearl Harbor, Americans were furious. Lieutenant Colonel James H. Doolittle brought about his plan to get revenge on Japan. On the morning of April 18, 15 planes carried 4 bombs targeting Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, and Kobe.
