The Germans invaded Poland on September 1, 1939. Hitler Justified the invasion because of the German speaking peoples in Poland. Also, there were Jews there that he wanted to kill. The Russians also invaded Poland on September 17, 1939 as agreed upon in the non-aggression pact between Germany and the soviet union.

In 1939 Hitler invades Poland. The British and the French declare war on Germany the next Day. This is the event that starts World War 2. Poland is overtaken by the Nazi from the west. The Soviets take over eastern poland September as well, splitting it with the Germans.

From september 7 1940 to may 21 1941 over 100 tonnes of high explosives were dropped on 16 british citys including london. 40,000 people were killed, half of them were from london. Winston churchill immeditley responded by bombing berlin (Germanys capital).

December 7th 1941, Kamikazes (Jappaness suicide bombers) & ships attack Pearl Harbor Hawaii, killing 2,402 and injures 1,282 U.S. men. United States joins war.

The United States drops the first Atomic bomb on the Japanese city of Hiroshima. Over 135,000 civilians are killed. The Japanese still do not surrender. The plane that dropped is called the Anola Gay.

The second neuclar bomb is dropped on the Japanese city of Nagasaki. It was the second attempt to get the Japanese to surrender.
