    Battle of Britain
    This battle was a military campaign of the second world war (World War II). It was described as the first major military campaign fought by air forces. Hitler had wanted to invade Britain and wanted to end the war quickly. He came up with an operation called "Sealion" where he would try to secure control over the skies of southern England. The threat to the German Air Forces was the Royal Air Forces. In the end, the Royal Air Forces won the Battle of Britain.
  • Battle of Crete

    Battle of Crete
    This was a battle fought during the second war. This war was very important and emphasized sacrifice through selfless bravery as the people of Crete fought very hard to defend their freedom. This battle was a mix of New Zealanders, British, Australian, and Greek troops trying to fight off a huge German airborne assault. At the end of this battle, it was the Germans who had won this battle.
  • Invasion of the Soviet Union

    Invasion of the Soviet Union
    This was a plan for the German Nazis to take over the Western Soviet Union breaking the non-aggression pact Hitler and the Soviets had signed two years before. Hitler was the one who ordered the invasion of the Soviet Union. This operation was code-named "Operation Barbarossa". The idea of this invasion was that the German Nazis would repopulate after taking over the Western Soviet Union. Soon after the invasion, mobile units began the mass murder of Soviet Jews.
  • Pearl Harbor

    Pearl Harbor
    This was a surprise, preemptive military strike by the Imperial Japanese Navy Air service upon the United States against the Naval Base at Pearl Harbor in Honolulu. It was a plan by the Japanese to eliminate any potential challenge to Japanese conquest in Asia. This attack majorly changed the U.S. foreign relations and a significant consequence of the attack was the entrance of the United States in World War II.

    This battle was a fight over control of the city of Stalingrad in Southern Russia. This battle was between Germany and the Soviet Union. This battle also marked the end of Germany's advances in eastern Europe and Russia. This was also the first major German loss during World War II.
  • Battle of Iwo Jima

    Battle of Iwo Jima
    The battle of Iwo Jima was a battle where the U.S. Marine Corps and Navy landed on the island of Iwo Jima. The U.S. eventually captured the Island of Iwo Jima from the Imperial Japanese Army. This was the first battle major in World War II to take place on the Japanese homeland. The reason the U.S. took over Iwo Jima was that they believed it was a strategic island and wanted to use it for fighter planes to land and take off when attacking Japan.
