    Japanese Invasion of China
    Japan invaded Asia in order to place an attack on China. The United states put sanctions on them to try and get them to pull their troops out of China. Japan did this because they want to expanded their territory. The effects of this was, Japan signed Tripartite Pact with Germany and Italy. Japan attacked pearl harbor because of the sanctions.

    Standing for "Lightning War". This was a tactic used by Germans to help them win some battles because they knew they could not win direct battles. The effects of this is that it did help Germany win some battles.

    Germany and the Soviet Union invaded Poland, this is what started World War II. This happened because Germany wanted to exapnd its power. The effects of this is that Britain and France declared war on Germany.

    Germany's attemped to invade the soviet union so that they did not have to fight a two front war. The effects of this was that it was not succesful, so Germany had to fight a two front war.

    Japan attacked the harbor early in the morning, this lasted nearly two hours. Japn wanted to be the dominant power in the pacific. About 2,000 soldiers were killed that day, and the day after we declared war on japan.

    Was a conference held by the Nazi to discuss the "Final Solution", and what to do with the Jews. The effects of this was the killing of about 1,000 jews per day.

    A naval battle in which the United States defeated Japan. The effects of this led to advances in code breaking, allied powers were able to move to an offensive position.

    An operation in which a british bomber raided Hamburg, Germany. Britain suffered 167 civilian deaths. The effects are that 1,500 Germans died and a new thing called "windows" was used to confuse the Germans.

    US and British forces move into Italy, they wanted to take out the German and Italian forces. The effects of this was that it allowed the United States and Britain an easier way to take down the axis powers.

    American, Britain and canadian forces landed on five beaches stretching 50 miles. This helped the allies get to the land of the axis powers. The effects or that it was a major victory for the allies in defeating Geremany

    This was the last attempted Germany had to stay in the war and also the deadliest battle of the war. Allied poweres were working their way into Germany and they had to throw everything they could at them. The effects were that the United States had 100,000 casualties.

    These were bomb raids that were used to get the Germans to surrender. The effects of this is that Germany was overwhelmed and they surrendered.

    Three United States Marine groups landed on an area that was defended by 23,000 Japanese. We had to have some kind of base on the land before we could actually begine the war. The effects was that it gave the United States easier access to Japanese land.

    Japan and American troops faught over important air bases, which helped the United States invade Japan. These spots held a large role. The effects of this was that the United States won which allowed them into japan.

    Soviets discovered what the Germans had created with there concentration camps and the gas chambers, in the attempted to kill off a race. People began to liberate the camps when word got out as to what was going on. The effects were that over six million Jews were killed.

    This was the day that Germany surrendered and the day after was celebrated as VE day. Hitler killed himself after Mussolini was killed. The effects of all this was that the war was over.

    Atomic bombs were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. This killed about 12,000 people. The United States did not want anymore casualties. The effect of this was that Japan surrendered.

    Japan finally surrendered and was officially the end of World War II. Japan was stunned by the United States dropping of the atomic bombs. The effects of this is that the war was over for good.
