Over 400,000 casulties were reported during this battle. The German Army devasted the inexpierenced French and other Allied troops, and took control of the entire country afterward.

    This was the battle in which the Soviets successfully defended their capital against the Germans who were tyring to take it from them. Over one million casulties were reported from this battle. Hitler believed if he took over Moscow, the spirit of the Red Army would be crushed.

    Kharkov was an important city in Ukraine. It had seen fierce fighting in the autumn of 1942, when the Germans captured it. The Red Army tried to ragain the city, but failed after the Germans destroyed them. Over 300,000 casulties were reported during this battle.

    The Soviet Union won this battle on the eastern front. They were warned months in advance that the Germans wanted to eliminate the Kursk "Bulge" came to their advantage. Over 300,000 casulties were reported from this battle.

    Over 100,000 casulties were reported during this battle. The main objective of the Allied forces was to break the Germans' Gustav Line, which was a series of military fortifications running across Italy, and to gain control of Rome. The Allies met this objective, and won this battle.

    This was the day when the Allies landed on Normandy. They landed on a 50-mile stretch of French coastline, to defeat Hitler. Over 9,000 Allied casulties were reported during this battle.

    This was the last German offensive on the Western Front the second World War. It was called 'Battle of the Bulge' because that's were the Germans broke the Allied line. Over 100,000 casulties were reported during this battle. The Germans were not victorious at the end of this battle.

    There were over 18,070 wounded. The Marines took heavy casulities. The capture of Iwa Jima was part of a three-point plan the Americans had for winning the war in the far east. Iwo Jima was a small island, about 4.5 miles long.

    This battle saw the fall of the German army, the suicide of Hitler and the end of World War II. It was the last major offensive of the war. The Red Army took over Berlin on April 30th, signaling the conclusion of the war.
