japan invaded China and fought a full scale war for 8 years. Japan wanted to control china and extend it's influence over it. It made China have more Japanese attributes in the way their government worked and other things such as art, music, etc.

Germans quickly went through Poland and dominated it. They needed to show everyone that they were a nation to be feared of. That got everyone fearing Germany and preparing to face them.

Adolf Hitler invaded Poland and broke the Treaty of Versailles. He did this because he was upset about the outcome of Germany from World War 1. He also wanted that land because it would be easy to grab. When he did this it started World War 2 and dragged all the major countries into it.
