WORLD WAR II

  • The End of World War I

    World War comes to a close. The Americans, British, and French have been victorious against the Germans. The British and French force Germany to sign the Treaty of Versailles at the palce of Versailles which limits the German military and its' artilery. It also forces the Germans to pay off the war debt. Germany plunges into financial turmoil.
  • Global Depression

    Many countries were affected by the great cost that the First World War had brought. After the stock market collapse in America in 1930, the United States were affected greatly and unemployment rates plunged rapidly. Americans had trouble maintaining or finding jobs and many were forced to stand in bread lines.
  • FDR, 32nd President

    Frankin Delano Roosevelt defeats the incumbent Republican, Herbert Hoover in the race. FDR creates jobs and helps improve the unemployment rate. America, however, does not get out of the Depression until the attack on Pearl Harbor by the Japanese Empire.
  • Der Fuhrer, Adolf Hitler

    With Germany in a economy crisis the Kaiser is forced to hand the power over to the rising Nazi Party leader, Adolf Hitler, as chancellor of Germany. Hitler begins to build the military and violates the Treaty of Versailles.
  • Hitler Invades Poland

    On September 1, 1939, Hitler invades Poland and World War II had begun.
  • Pearl Harbor

    The Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor Hawaii on Sunday, December, 7, 1941 where many Naval ships and aircraft had been positioned.
  • Holocaust

    Hitler blamed the failure of the first world war and the economic downfall on the Jews since he had first come to power. Joseph Goebells, Adolf Hitler, and Heinrich Himler devise a "final solution" to the "Jewish problem." Concentration camps are set up around Europe and filled with Jews. Other people were placed in the Holocasut as well. Homosexuals, Johova's Witness, Gypsies, and others were also placed in oncentration camps as well. 6,000,000 Jews were in the Holocaut. 11,000,000 were killed.
  • Japanese Internment Camps

    The same year concentration camps are being set up, Japanese-Americans are being placed into internment camps in the United States in fear that they will be disloyal to the USA.
  • Germany Surrenders

    After the successful battle of D-Day for the Allied Forces, the Allies advance into Germany. With Berlin Surrounded, Hitler shoots himself and his wife takes cyanide. Germany surrenders and the war is over. All concentration camps have been liberated and all internment camps in America have been shut down.
  • Manhattan Project.

    The United States developed the atomic bomb which was used against Japan at Nagasaki and Hiroshima. Japan surrenders after this monumental event.
