A book hitler wrote, Mein Kampf, which outlined his belief that Germany had to be restored to it's former wealth and power and it was Germany's destiny to end the restrictions of the hated Treaty of Versailles, was published without a reaction from the Allies.

Germany takes control of Austria with no action from the Allies

Hitler is appeased by the allies at the Munich conference where the Allies basically agree to let Germany take over control of the Sudetenland in Czechslovakia. After this conference the PM for Britain at the time, Neville Chamberlain, gave a speech saying that they had solved world peace by appeasing Hitler. "Our desire for our two countries to never go to war again." This victory was short lived as Hitler invaded the rest of Czechslovakia in March 1939.

Crete is a Greek Island in the Mediterranean Sea which had a large strategical value as it's harbour was ideal for naval operations. ANZAC soldiers played a major part in this battle and there were major losses on both sides.
