    Japan and China are Officialy At War
    Japan wanted to take over China because of their obsession to be a World power. They also wanted more resources to live in, this was because Japan was such a small island for the amount of population it had.

    Hitler Funds the Euthanasia Program
    This was a secret program that Hitler signed to selectively ‘kill’ all children under the age of five that showed signs of mental or physical disabilities. Later on the program expanded to teens and then even adults, Hitler believed in this program because he thought it would ‘cleanse’ the German race and create an Aryan race. Over 200,000 people died due to this program.

    Hitler overtakes Austria and Czechoslovakia
    Most of the other countries in the world were dealing with their own problems and so they did nothing to stop Germany, they used the policy of appeasement. Europe was afraid of another World War I. After that Hitler signed an agreement to not go after other lands.

    The Pact of Steel is also known as the Pact of Friendship. This was the Alliance between Germany and Italy, and it was a military and political alliance between the Italy and Germany. They would be a team on the battlefield and also shared the same passion for taking over the world.

    This was an agreement that Germany and the Soviet Union made this pact. This pact said that when Germany would overtake take Poland both Germany and Russia would split up the land for both of them to take. Russia did in fact help take over Poland but when Hitler started to mass murder people Russia and everyone else did not accept it.

    The reason that Germany attacked Poland was because they wanted a living space for the perfect Aryan race. Hitler would use the strategy of Blitzkrieg to take over Poland very fast and effective. After taking over Poland Germany would just murder all the “undesirables” and Jews that were living in Poland.

    The Battle of Britain was when Germany would rain missiles and bombs to Britain. Though they did not enter into land combat inside Britain Germany would launch large scale attacks on Britain taking out many factories involved with World War 2 or with the Royal Air Force. Germany would later lost air superiority to Britain and abandon the mission completely, leaving Britain with a win.

    The Tuskegee Airmen became the first all black World War II fighter pilots. They were heavily discriminated on but would still maintain to have a perfect record with no losses.

    Russia was one big reason that the Axis powers lost. This was because the invasion took longer than expected and winter would also be a big contributor because the Nazis were not equipped for winter nor did they have enough food. Almost have of the Nazis troops were in Russia and they would all die due to lack of food, water, clothes and because of civilians fighting and their traps.

    In 1941 Philip Johnston being a WW1 veteran came up with the idea to introduce the Navajos into the Marines and they would create a secret code that the Japanese nor the Germans could break, this was because their was no written language for Navajo it would take many years to learn it, the Navajo Code Talkers played one of the most important roles in WW2.

    This was one of the most horrific days for the United States it was when Japan bombed Pearl Harbor that we declared war against Japan. Pearl Harbor was on Hawaii and it was bombed to utter destruction 1,177 crewmen died due to the bombs. Japan wanted us to join the war and that is what happened.

    This was the day after the surprise attack on Pearl Harbor. Our response was that we were going to go to war with Japan and with the Axis Powers, as soon as we declared war on Japan Italy and Germany declared war on the US. FDR also gave his famous infamy speech.

    This was a board that President FDR established and what they would do was look over all the factories and companies and make sure they were creating war goods such as: combat boots, guns, ammunition, tanks and many more war products.

    This was in the United States and many internment camps were made, they were in desserts with no running water and Americans with a Japanese background would be taken there the families would be removed from their homes only to take one bag of their belongings. Though many Japanese Americans were fighting in the war for America the US treated their families like prisoners. Later on in 1988 any survivor of the internment camps were given $20,000 and an apology from George Bush.

    This was a meeting where the Nazi officials discussed about the “Jewish Question”. Which was that they wanted to emigrate the Jews but it was going to be too expensive so instead they decided with the “Final Solution” but what this really meant were the Jewish Death Camps that would be exterminating the Jewish Population.

    This was a 5-12 day 60 mile march to a prisoner of war camp. On the march their Japan would be merciless and kill over 10,000 Americans and Filipinos. The Filipinos and Americans had to strictly follow the Japanese orders and not eat for days or drink sanitized water.

    Rosie the riveter was a fictional character that was made to motivate the women in the United States to do jobs that men would do like working in factories and creating World War 2 goods. The women doing the same jobs as men would only get paid 60% of what men would get paid. Also many military accepted women were only assigned for non-combat mission or assignments.

    The Battle of Midway was the turning point of the war in the Pacific theater. This was a big overcoming loss for Japan they lost more than 5,000 Japanese soldiers died and that 4 aircraft ships sank and 322 planes were shot down but only around 1,0000 american soldiers died.

    This was the second attempt by Germany to take over Russia, they suddenly got trapped by winter and were stuck without food and supplies this was because they were undersupplied and civilians would fight against Germany as well as Russia’s soldiers, the attack completely failed and Russia won the battle.

    D-day was the where the Allied Forces invaded the beaches of Normandy, these beaches were controlled by Germany.This was largest sea and land overtake ever. This battle was the major turning point in the fight against Germany because the Allied Forces would have ground in Germany and would be able to conquer it from the inside.

    This was when Germany tried to take Antwerp which was in Belgium, the Germans also misled the Americans and had the upperhand in the battle. In the end Germany lost but it almost seemed like a tie because of the amount of US deaths there were, there were over 81,000 deaths.

    Battle of Iwo Jima and Okinawa
    These two battles were on very small islands off of Japan. It took much time for the United States to win because the progress the United States would make would be very at a very slow rate. In the battle of Iwo Jima roughly 7,000 American soldiers died but 200,000 Japanese died and on Okinawa 19,000 Americans died and another 200,000 Japanese soldiers died. This was mainly because of the beliefs of the Japanese.

    Franklin D. Roosevelt dies and Truman becomes President
    Franklin D. Roosevelt was assassinated on April 12, 1945 and then Truman became president he had to take over the Manhattan project and could’ve turned it down but instead kept it alive. He would be the president of the United States when the war would end.

    In the month of April German soldiers were met by soviet and American troops and Germany was almost completely finished, so much so that even Hitler committed suicide. Though the Germans had last attempt of killing all witnesses and Jewish people to hide the evidence of their war crimes. Then after almost a 6 year war against Germany they finally gave up and surrendered.

    The Atomic Bombs are Dropped on Japan
    Little Boy and Fat Man were what the Atomic bombs were called. The first bomb little boy was dropped on Hiroshima and killed in 80,000 Japanese people instantly and would kill a combined 120,000 people in the year later. Fat Man was dropped on Nagasaki and killed 60,000-80,000 people within the years. In the end Japan finally surrendered on August 15, 1945 due to the devastating blows of the Atomic bombs.
