This is the event that started WWII. Germany took over Poland in about 2 weeks! Hitler used Blitzkrieg tactics to invade and take over Poland. He attacked Poland first because they had gotten land from Germany in the Treaty of Versailles from WWI. -

Hitler Invades Other Countries
In 1940 Hitler invaded several countries including France, Denmark, Norway, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg using Blitzkrieg tactics. He conquered all of these countries in approximentaly 1 year.He also started bombing Britian in what became known as the Battle of Britian. -
Hitler Invades Soviet Union
Hitler attacked the Soviet Union in the summer, but soon the cold Russian winter and the Red Army handed the Germans their first defeat.The Germans couldn't get supplies to the front lines, leaving their troops vulnerable. The Nazis had to retreat. -
Pearl Harbor
On Dec. 7, 1941 the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Thousands of lives were lost and it was the event that caused America to get involved in WWII. -
Germany Starts Losing
In 1942 a 6 month struggle for Stalingrad happened. The Red Army held its own and the Germans took a major blow. Because of this weakening, Britian and American forces began defeating the Germans. The Italians and the Japanese were also starting to lose, signaling the end of the war. -
America Drops the A-Bomb on Japan
America developed and dropped the A-Bomb on Japan to end the war quickly. The Japanese would never give up, so we dropped the bomb on them to prevent further American casualties. If we hadn't dropped the bomb on Japan the war would have drug on for much longer costing many more lives.
