    Adolf Hitler becomes the Chancellor of Germany
    As the Naxis became the largest political party, Conservative Leaders thought that they could control Adolf Hitler. In 1933, Hitler legally became the Chancellor. By becoming a Chancellor, Hitler was able to later become the Führer and have total power over Germany.

    Hitler declares himself Führer
    Hitler declares himself Führer, absolute leader of Germany. Hitler uses President Hindenburg as a chance for him to seize control of Germany by making himself the Führer. After President Hindenburg died, he declared himself Führer. He was able to control over every aspect of German life. By becoming the Führer, Hitler was able to perform in plan and cause World War 2.

    Reintroduces the draft and rearms Germany
    Hitler violates the Treaty of Versailles by introducing military conscription. Hitler violated the Treaty of Versailles because this limited the size of Germany's army. However, the League of nation failed to stop Germany. Germany started to invade other natioons such as the Rhineland.

    The Nuremberg Race Laws forbid Jews to marry Aryans and deprived Jews from their rights of citizenship. Nazis later made instructional charts to help distinguish Jews from Aryans. Anti- Semitism will later cause death of millions of Jews.

    The Treaty of Versailles forbidden German troops to go 30 mile wide zone on eithe rside of the Rhine River. However, becaue they violated the Treaty of Versailles, German troops moved into Rhineland. France and Britain didn't want to have war so they urged appeasement. However, the occupation of Rhineland strengthened Hitler' power, changed the balance of power in Germany's favor, and encouraged Hitler to speed up his expansion.

    Hitler sent troops to help Franscisco Franco's Nationalists because Hitler wanted to bring Germany closer to Italy since Italy was also supporting the military in Spain adn he thought that providing military for Franco would give him the chance to test out their commanders, weapons, and tactics. During the civil war, Non-inttervention agreement was created by 27countries including Britain, France, the Soviet Union, and Italy.

    Munich Conference takes place
    Germany, France, Britain, and Itlay comes to the Munich Conference that France and Britain propposed. Neville Chamberlain believed that by giving Germany Sudetenland, Hitler won’t attack Czechoslovakia. Hitler promised to repsect Czechoslovakia's border in exchange of taking control over the Sudetenland. However, within six months, Germany took over Czechoslovakia. This made Hitler to think that European nations are not aggressive and caused him to expand more territories.

    In the Munich Conference, Hitler promised to respect Czechoslovakia's border. However, in less than 6 months, Germany took Czechoslovakia. This made Hitler to have more desire to invade other countries.

    Hitler and Mussolini signed 'Pact of Steel'. This was signed by Germany and Italy to link two countries poltically and militarily. From this agreement, they trusted each other.

    Russia and Germany reached an agreement to never attack one another and this was the Non-Agression Pact. This is significant for Hitler because it assured that his troops would not fight on two fronts because the major reason Germany lost in WW1 was because they fought on two fronts.

    In the secret part of the Nonagreesion Pact, they agreed to divide Poland. German aircraft bombed Polan's capital, Warsaw. They used Germany's newest military strategy, the blizkrieg to invade Poland. This involved using fast-moving aiprlanes and tanks. This showed that Nazi's new military strategy was a successful.

    Although France and Great Britain tried their best to avoid war, on September 3rd, 1939, they declared war on Germany. Germany thought that the European countries are not aggressive so they invaded many countries. Angry France and Great Britain thought that they have no choice but to declare war on Germany so that Germany would stop attacking other nations.

    British stationed their troops along the Maginot Line and waited for Germany to attack but nothing happened. Germany soldiers also stared back from their Siegfried Line a few miles away. Germans called it sitzkrieg: sitting war and some newspaper called it “a phony war”

    Congress passed Neutrality Acts and this law made it illegal to sell arms or lend money to nations at war. Later, Lend Lease Act gets passed and it states that the president could lend arms and other supplies to any vountry important to United States. United States wanted to stay isolated.

    French and British stationed their troops along the Maginot Line and waited for the Germans to attack. Germany waited in Siegfried Line for French and British to attack. This war wa called Phony war because nothing really happend. However on April 9th, 1939, Hitler invaded Denmark and Norway.

    Hitler began to take control over the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg to strke at France. While Allies' attention was on those control, Hitler sent a large troop to Ardennes, area in northern France, Luxembourg, and Belgium. Germany was able to move acrooss France from there.

    Germany took Paris and French leaders decided to surrender. They took over the northern part and left the southern part to a puppet government. Charles de Gaulle, a French general, set up a government in exile to reconquer France. This shows how strong Soviets were.

    Britain and German fought over Britain. Britain had radar, electronic tracking system that could tell the number, speed, and direction of the nearby warcrafts. The radar gave them a huge advantage. Britain was able to defend themselves and this war showed the Hitler's attack could be blocked.

    Mussolini planned to take over North Africa. While Britain was having a war with Germany, Italians attaked Brithish controlled Egypt. Egypt's Suex Canal was a good palce to reach the oil fiedls of the Middle East. Later in December, British struk back.

    United States and Britian got angry at Japan for attacking their land. As a result, they declared war on Japan.

    Germany made a surprise attack on Soviet Union. Even though Soviet Union had the largest army in the world, they were not trained well and were not prepared for this attack. THe Russians used the scorched earth strategy.

    Japnese attacked in Pearl Harbor. This event later made Roosevelt to drop bombs in Japan. Japanese attacked them because of various reasons. One of the reason was because US sided with China when Japan invaded China.

    The battle began with the German air force bombing the Volga River and the city of Stalingrad. German army moved in and took large potion of land. However, the Soviet troops were not ready to give up. Despite the lack of supplies, Germany didn't surrender. This battle was the major defeat for Germans.

    When Montgomery arrived, Germans had advanced to an Egyptian village called El Alamein. They have dugged in so well that British forces could not go around them and the only way was the massive frontal attack. 1,000 british guns took the Axis soldiers totally by surpriseback fiercely.     Allies launched Operation Torch as Rommel’s troop retreated west. Allied force landed in Morocco and Algeria. American general Dwight Eisenhower led this force. Rommel’s Afrika Krops was caught between Montgomery’s and Eisenhower’s so they finally was crushed.

    Roosevelt and CHurchill decided to attack Itally first. Allied forces landed on Sicily and captured it from Italian and German troops. In Sep 3rd, Italy surrendered. Germans seized control of northern Italy and placed Mussolini back in charge

    On June 6, 1944 the Allied Forces of Britain, America, Canada, and France attacked German forces on the coast of Normandy, France.The Allies attacked and gained a victory. This was the turning point for World War II in Europe.

    This battle is the largest air-sea battle in history Japanese planned to destroy the American fleet. However, Japanese navy had lost disastrously.     German tanks broke through the US defenses. Allies was eventually push Germany back. This Battle was Germany's final attempt to drive the Allies off of mainland Europe.This battle was one of the greatest battles ever fought by the United States.

    United States had a new weapons called Atomic bomb. United States dropped bomb on Hiroshima. However, Japan still didn't surrender so they dropped one more bomb in Nagasaki. Japanese finally surrendered to General Douglas MacArthur. From Japan's surrender, the World War 2 in the Pacific Ended.
