German forces take Poland by air attack. When Hitler had finished his planning he had death camps set up and sent anyone in poland to a death camp. Great Britian then bombed Germany for 3 days straight. -
Germany begins bombing Britain
Germany and Britain were fighting against each other so Germany sent bombs to be released in Britain. This led to the us having to help Britain and give them money to rebuild. -
American troops moved to Pearl Harbor
This is when the US puts troops oin peearl Harbor and is also the place that thwe Japanese destroy. -
US aids Britain
Britain had been destroyed by the natzis so the US aids them and helps them come back to normal because Britain and the Ud were allies and the Us knew Briatin would help them now if they needed it. -
Germany invades Soviet Union
Germany sent in 3 million soldiers to try to take the Soviet Union. They under estimated the soviet union and when Germany was low in troops they began a two front war. Germany couldn't handle it so they lost. -
Japan Decides to attack
Japan decides to send troops to Pearl Harbor and destroy it. This was the day that they announced this plan and started to think about it more. -
Bombing of Pearl Harbor
The Japanese bombed pearl harbor on December 7th. They did it by air attack in the morning. None of the US troops were expecting it so lots of equipment was destroyed. -
Allies defeat Japan in the Battle of Midway
This attack happened 6 months after the attacks on Pearl Harbor. The US was ready for the attacks because they broke japanese code and defeated the Japanese. The US didn't lose as ships or as much equipment as the Japanese. -
D-Day
American and Canadian and british forces landed on Normandy beach. This is the largest land sea attacks ever. The americans and canadians won against the French. -
Holocaust starts
The Holocost was en event of which Hitler ordered his troops to take the Jews from their homes and put them in concentration camps or death camps. These were full of jews and had devices that would kill jews if needed. -
Allied troops Capture iwo jima
It was the closest base to the US and was easy for the US to spy on. The us lost 4,000 people and Japan lost everyone that they had fighting against the US. When the Us won the most famous idea came from them raising the flag which we can see in Washington DC. -
Germany Surrenders
German leader signs the unconditional surrender letter. This was not the perminent one so other German leaders still fought the east because the west was pretty much destroyed. -
Victory in Europe
Great Britian and the United States celebrated a victory in Europes Day. -
Atomic Bomb is Dropped
The US droped 2 atomic bombs in Japan and destroyed these two towns entirely. One was hiroshima and the other was nagasaki. -
Japan Surrenders
Aboard a boat Japan formally surrenders to the allies ending the war. Japan had nothing left and couldn't fight. They were forced to surrender.
