German Invasion of Poland
At 4:45 am, German soldiers started their attack on Poland from the ground, the sea, and the air. Poland was not yet mobilized and therefore suffered a great cost. Germany advanced to Warsaw in just 1 week and eventually conquered Poland. This attack prompted Britain and France to declare war on Germany and started wwll. This would be the first on many devastating battles.

Battle of Crete
The battle of Crete was Greece’s last attempt to avoid an invasion by Germany. It was fought in Greece by the Germans and the Greek. This battle is known for the bravery and strength of the greek army. The significance of this battle though was that Crete’s citizens stood up to the Nazi invasion and fought back to protect their country which had not been done before and surprised the Nazis.

Battle of Moscow
This battle was fought in Moscow between Germany and the Soviet Union. Germany had tried to overrun Moscow but the soviet soldiers and the harsh winter in Russia made it difficult on the German troops. The Germans failed in their attempts and it cost them throughout the remainder of the war as their troops and resources were depleted.

Pearl Harbor
At 7:50 am the surprise attack that Japan had cultivated for months deviated Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. Japanese aircrafts lead a barrage of bombs on the U.S. ships in doc in Pearl Harbor. All the ships were either destroyed or damaged and nearly 3,000 U.S. soldiers died in the attack. This would be a turning point in Americas insolvent in wwll and they would declare war on Japan in the hours to follow the attack.

Battle of Stalingrad
This battle was the largest confrontation of World War Two. In this battle Germany and the axis powers fought against the soviet soldiers in order to gain control of Stalingrad. The battle ended up with the Soviet Union winning and the German 6th army being devastated. -
Battle of Anzio
The battle of Anzio was fought on the coastline of Italy between the Allied powers and Germany and Italy. The battle was a result of an attempt to break a standoff in an attempt to invade Rome. The allies decided to attack from the port of Anzio, surprising the Germans but giving them the high ground. The invasion of Normandy which took place on the German invaded beaches of France was one of the deadliest battles in American history with nearly 1,500 American casualties. The battle was between America and Germany in an attempt at an advance into Paris. America eventually won the battle, the battle will forever been known as D day

The battle of Berlin took place in the German city of Berlin between the Soviet army and the German army. Germany was greatly outnumbered by the Russians which ultimately lead to their defeat. The Soviet soldiers advanced into the city and came out victorious. The battle lead to Germany’s surrender and the suicide of its leader, Adolf Hitler.
