    Non-Aggressive Pact

    The pact stated that Germany would not attack the Soviet Union and the Soviets would not attack Germany. This then freed up Hitlers purse of his domination over the rest of Europe. The pact was violated by Hitler when he sent troops upon the Soviets a couple days later. It was important for Hitler because it allowed him to invade Poland

    Selective Training and Service Act

    This Act is known as a Draft, it was a 1st time peacetime draft in American history and required all males ages 18-35 to register for the war. Your draft was supposed to be for 12 month and later it was lengthened. This shows the US power over people and the involvement we had to when a war and now we have drafts so this was a start to something that would stick around to today.

    This is when Germany fired upon the USS Greer, FDR then ordered the Navy to shoot all Axis vessels on sight. Soon this event was what led the US into war.
  • Pearl Harbor

    Pearl Harbor

    This event is important for it was the last push on the United States to go into war. After the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 8th FDR declares war. causality's up to 3k were recorded and the Japanese targeted 8 US ships, Arizona, California, Nevada, West Virginia, and Oklahoma. This attack showed that many people in the US come together when needed especially if it is for their country, so it was important for everyone.

    All American Girls Baseball lasted from 1943 to 1954 it was started by Phillip k. Wrigley. The girls had to follow many rules and important one would be how they had to attend charm school and play hard on the field but be girly off. The importance of this event is to show the rise is women and it creates the start of women's sports we have today.

    D-Day was also called storming the beaches of Normandy. It took place on the beaches, Omaha. Gold, Juno, Sword, Utah. This would be the beginning of the end for German occupation of France.

    Battle of the Bulge

    This battle took place int he Ardennes Forest from December 16th 1944 to January 25th 1945, it was Hitlers final offence battle. The weather played a major part in the battle and the German attack caught the allies by surprised. It was important because it was a hard fought battle with over 1 million men fought and causality's were high.

    Hitler committed suicide with his wife and killed himself by a gun shot. His suicide is most important because it ended his power in Germany.

    The plane that dropped the uranium bomb that was names ¨little boy¨ was the Enola Gay, Colonel Paul Tibbets was the pilot. Many described the bomb as blinding light with sudden overwhelming wave of heat. The damage was strong and the importance of this event was how it then pushed Japan to surrender. The bomb proved the United States power and how if you do not want to surrender we can give you a reason too.
  • Japan Surrender Treaty

    Japan Surrender Treaty

    On this Sunday, the United States will become at peace with Japan. The signing of this Treaty was mainly to embarrass and make fun of Japan for having to surrender. The US along with many others had the Japaneses in front of everyone and even made them do it in their own territory Tokyo Bay. This also shows the power the Unites States has and that we do not care when it comes to winning especially to make fun of you for having to surrender when war is done.
