They were also the group that tortured and murdered Jews, polish, homosexuals, gypsies, etc.

This was a significant event because it showed that the German army was progressing and the British and American army had to come up with a strategy to free Paris and the rest of France. -
This was a surprise attack by the Japanese against the United States. More than 2,400 Americans dead including soldiers and citizens, and more than 1,000 wounded. It was a significant event because it pulled the United States into the war. Also it brought the lack of failure into the United States military showing we were weak, and the United States doesn't like be calling weak so we bombed Japan. -

World War 2 ended when Japan surrendered and Hitler shot himself. The Allied Forces took a destroyer ship to Tokyo bay where Japan signed a peace treaty. This is significant because this marked the end of WW2 and a victory for the Allied Forces.
