It is an important drastic event because they were the group that followed Hitler and caused mass destruction in WW 2. They were also the group that tortured and murdered Jews, polish, homosexuals, gypsies, etc.

    Hitler was appointed chancellor by President Paul Von Hindenburg. Shortly after Hindenburg died and Hitler got rid of the term President out of respect for Hindenburg. This was a drastic event because this was the start of Hitler's immense and growing power over Germany.

    IN 1940 he became prime minister after Neville Chamberlain. Churchill was a conservative Prime Minister for 2 terms. People voted him because he warned the people about the rising Nazi power. This is a significant event because Churchill was one of the most important leaders in the conflict of World War 2. He led many missions and battle strategies that were successful.

    France surrendered Paris to Germany because the Nazi's were defeating the French army and France didn't want Paris to be destroyed. This was a significant event because it showed that the German army was progressing and the British and American army had to come up with a strategy to free Paris and the rest of France.

    This was a surprise attack by the Japanese against the United States. More than 2,400 Americans dead including soldiers and citizens, and more than 1,000 wounded. It was a significant event because it pulled the United States into the war. Also it brought the lack of failure into the United States military showing we were weak, and the United States doesn't like be calling weak so we bombed Japan.

    D-Day also known as the battle of Normandy was fought on 5 beaches, Omaha, Juno, Sword, Gold, and Utah. The British came by flying and the United states by ship. The goal was to swarm the German's and take France back. This was a significant event because it was the turn of the Nazi rule and the Allied forces were starting to take back what is rightfully theirs.

    World War 2 Ends

    World War 2 ended when Japan surrendered and Hitler shot himself. The Allied Forces took a destroyer ship to Tokyo bay where Japan signed a peace treaty. This is significant because this marked the end of WW2 and a victory for the Allied Forces.
