    World War 2

  • Italian invasion of Ethiopia

Mussolini's Italy invaded Ethiopia on October 3, 1935 from Eritrea and Italian Somaliland without first declaring war. (U.S. Library of Congress) prior to this, tensions had been rising between Italy and Ethiopia including a small battle in December 1934 at Welwel in the Ogaden when Ethiopia tried to challenge the boundaries put in place by Italy.
On October 7, 1935 The League of Nations declared the attack an agression by Italy but did not take action. Italy would continue to occupy Ethiopia.
