  • August Meeting

    August Meeting
    Several motions were passed including antler point restrictions, CWD designations and deer registration improvements. Discussions included preparing for the upcoming deer season and the deer research project. Updates on deer health and chronic wasting disease were also discussed. As well as an update on elk and the estimated herd population. The meeting concluded with a discussion about the current status of law enforcement and the WDNR.
  • March Meeting

    Discusssion began with a recap of the 2013 deer season; total deer harvest was over 342,000. The winter of 2014 was very bad and brought up a major concern resulting in the DNR doing a state wide deer assessment. A research update on the WDNR study of a fawn and adult survival study. Management practices were also discussed with the chronic wasting disease. Changes were made with deer hunting for the 2014 season. The crossbow hunting now will be allowed for all with seperate license.
  • August Meeting

    August Meeting
    There were many resolutions discussed including antler point restrictions in Barron, Polk and Clark counties. They discussed legally changing the definition of albino and white deer. A vote was taken to allow deer hunting in Wood County. There were updates regarding wildlife management and deer research.
  • December Meeting

    December Meeting
    Free antlerless tags were discussed and whether they shoud be zone specific and if there should be a cost. It was announced that there will be a state wide deer pellet check in 2015. A motion was made for the DNR to make 2015 tags public and land specific.
  • March Meeting

    A report was read in regards to the 2014 deer season. The 2015 quota was also discussed and youth antlerless permit settings. Updates were given for the DMAP, research, elk, and law enforcement. A report about the deer trustee was presented by the DNR.
