My Biography Gosse and his Exploring team set of in hope of finding a direct route to alice springs. Giles and Warbuton were also trying to do this. -

The team came across the giant monolith of Uluru, Gosse and one team memebr climbed it and Gosse named the monolith Ayers Rock after the Cheif Secretary of South Australia at the time. -

Gosse decided to travel back home because he thought it wouldnt be succesful travelling any further west with such a low amount of water -
