  • Thomas Kuhn

    Thomas Kuhn was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 18th, 1922, to Samuel L. Kuhn (Father) and Minette Stroock Kuhn (Mother) and died on June 17th, 1996. Thomas Kuhn died of lung cancer at the age of 73, in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
  • Thomas Kuhn: The Structure of Scientific Revolutions

    In 1962, Thomas Kuhn authored his book titled "The Structure of Scientific Revolutions."
  • Thomas Kuhn's Paradigm Theory

    Thomas Kuhn had a theory that within science exists these patterns, otherwise known as paradigms. Thomas Kuhn claimed to have discovered a pattern of science-crisis-revolution.
  • Paradigm Shifts and What They Are

    Thomas Kuhn described a paradigm as being a pattern followed within normal science. With a paradigm being an accepted pattern, what we call a paradigm shift, would be when something occurs outside of that pattern and alters the course of said pattern.

  • Criticism of Thomas Kuhn's Theory of Paradigm Shifts

    Thomas Kuhn's theory of paradigm shifts did not go without criticism. Some of the criticism his theory received, was that it was too vague and too broad. Kuhn conceded and said that the term was too broad and said that he used the term paradigm to mean exemplar.
