My mom would read different stories before going to bed at night.

We would be assigned reading journals at home. We would have to read 30mins-1 hour every night and my mom would have to sign off on it.

In elementary school between the 3rd-5th grade we would create our own picture books and stories. The books would get laminated and we were able to share them with the class.

My teachers started doing popcorn reading when I was in about the 3rd grade. I hated it because I wasn't always the strongest reader.

In the 5th grade we have to take a reading comprehension test to see where we should be placed going in to middle school.

This is what I would call my Twilight phase. I also read a lot of other fiction books during this time.

It might have been around freshman year I learned to look for key points in long passages and highlight only necessary areas.

Junior year of high school I took a literature class. We had a new book report every week.

I started reading more scholarly articles when I started UNLV. I needed them mostly for papers and reports.

I really started to share what I was reading when I started at CSN. Taking online classes you are required to be involved in a lot of discussions, which usually involve discussing the book and what you have read.
