The Chicago Tribune reported states, "Maier sailed unaccompanied from LeHaver in northwestern France and arrived in New York ten days later" (O'Donnell). Nothing else is known about what she did for the five years following her arrival to the US.

Aloof attended an auction in Chicago in 2007. "He came across a box that had been repossessed from a storage locker, and a hasty search revealed a wealth of black and white shots of the loop from the 1950's and 60's (O'Donnell).
