    On May 13th, 1607 the first settlers arrived on the town that would soon be known as Jamestown. It was formed by the joint-stock company called "The Virginia Company". It was the first permanent engligh settlement in North America. Would soon be a part of the state Virginia.

    The house of burgesses was the fist house of representatives in North America . It was made by Virginia company, and it's first meeting was in Jamestown, VA.

    On November 11th, 1620 41 English colonists signed the "Mayflower Compact". This document was an agreement where the colonists agreed that they woould obey laws created for the general good and pleged loyalty to first God and second the King. This also created a covenant community which was a community based solely on the writings in the Mayflower Compact.
