    It ended 45 days later. Railroad workers in West Virginia made the trains crash into the roundhouse (the building where the locomotives had their maintainancing) and refused to move and get back to work until the owners restored their pay––which was reduced by 10% eight months before, and threattened another reduction.

In this agreement, the African-Americans from the South would be submissive to the political ruling of the white politicians. However, they were allowed basic education rights and all other legal rights.
  • Signing of the Taft-Katsura Agreement

    Signing of the Taft-Katsura Agreement

The United States had just taken control of The Philippines after the Spanish-American War in 1898 and wanted to keep the nation under their hands.

    The Panama Canal is a ship canal that allows passage from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean, and vice versa. It was built so that ships didn't have to go all the way around South America to get to the Atlantic Coast of the Americas. It was opened duirng the United State's intervention of Panama.
