    The American Civil War was fought over the issues of slavery and the rights of the states. The civil war was America's bloodiest and most divisive conflict. The war resulted in the deaths of more than 620,000 people and more injured.
  • Assassination of Archduke Ferdinand

    The assassination of Ferdinand and his wife Sophie occurred in Sarajevo when they were killed by Gavrilo Princip. Princip was one of a group of six assassins coordinated by Danilo. The political objective of the assassination was to break off Austria-Hungary.

    Great Depression 1930 The economy collapsed in the early 1930s. Millions of Americans suffered from this. It was due to the large unemployment rate. However the stock market crashed played a big part during this time.

    In 1930 the American Entertainment Industry was beginning to expand.This was more practical for the Americas to find out what was going on in the world. Without leaving the comfort of there home.

    During the hundred days Roosevelts was president began the New Deal. The New Deal was started to recover the economy. One of the acts created was the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. These financial reforms helped restore confidence in the economy.

    The presences of the U.S. in Guam and the philippines posed a threat.The japanese navy sailed for pearl harbor. The hackers struck the base. Thousands of lives were lost.

    Hundred thousands of women joined in to fight for there country. They created a bill the WAC . It was part of the regular army. Women who served received same benefits as men.

    When Adolf Hitler came to power he had targeted Jews for persecution. Once the war was over he had murdered 6 million Jews and 5 million other people. Hitler killed all these Jews because he taught they were not superior enough to live.

    At the Yalta Conference, they had to discuss the post-war between Germany, Eastern Europe, And Asia. They agreed that Poland, Bulgaria, and Romania would hold free elections.

    In 1930's the policies of isolationism and appeasement did nothing to stop the rise of dictatorship and the outbreak of global war. After WWII the US leaders viewed these past policies as mistakes. They looked for new ways to keep the United States safe and protect its interest around the world.

    The Korean war started because Europe was the first focus of the Cold War. In the early 1950's the US involvement in the Korean War made East Asia the prime battleground in the war struggle.
